Lavish Yourself!

The Duo Obsessions Lavish boasts dual motors as one of it's main features, but the second motor really doesn't add anything for me. Despite that, Lavish is a great g-spot vibrator for those who like thicker toys, and enjoy a lot of firm pressure on their g-spots. It also works well as a clitoral vibrator for those who like strong, deep vibrations and don't mind (or even appreciate) the extra length.

Use

The Duo Obsessions Lavish is intended to be a g-spot vibrator. It's thick, sharply curved tip can provide some intense g-spot stimulation for those who are able to insert it, but may be too much for some users. I wouldn't recommend this as a first g-spot toy for that reason. Lavish also works well as a clitoral vibrator, and although it is a little bulky, and isn't the best choice for clit stimulation during partnered sex, the extra length is great for those who might normally have a hard time reaching their clits.

Like all Evolved toys, the Lavish is waterproof, so you can play with it in the tub or shower.

Material / Texture

The Lavish is made from plastic with a velvety coating. It's non-porous and phthalate free. The surface feels soft and smooth, and has very little drag. Since it is plastic, the Lavish is completely hard and will not bend. This is great for applying pressure to the g-spot or clit, but can cause insertion to be more challenging than with a flexible toy of the same size.

Design / Shape / Size

The Lavish is larger than my other g-spot toys. It is 7 1/2" in total, with 5 inches of insertable length. My g-spot is shallow, only an inch or two inside my vagina, so if I'm using it for g-spot stimulation, most of the length is wasted for me. It will work well for women with deeper g-spots, and also allows women like me, with shorter vaginas, to also reach the deeper a-spot.

The main part of the shaft is straight, with a bulge near the top. The narrowest part is 1 1/4" wide (4 1/4" circumference) and the largest part of the bulge is 1 1/2" wide (4 3/4" circumference.)

The tip is slightly tapered, and has a very sharp curve. The thickest part of the curve is 1 5/8" wide, but the tip extends out 2 1/4" from back to front. It's much easier to "hook" to toy into the vagina, following the curve, then to try to push the widest part in head-on.

I like how I can I get 2 1/4" of width pressing into my g-spot, but my vaginal opening only has to stretch to a maximum of 1 5/8". There's no way I could fit 2 1/4" through my opening - 1 5/8" can still be a bit of a challenge for me with the hard material, and curved design. I got the toy as a beginner, and I wasn't able to insert it for several months. Although the entrance to my vagina is tight, I have more room inside, and it's nice for me to be able to experience the feeling of something thicker inside me without any painful stretching. It definitely puts some intense pressure on my g-spot!

The shape of the tip curves nicely to reach my clit, and by pushing the shaft away from my body, I'm able to leverage the toy to get a lot of pressure where I need it. The tip is fairly broad, but is still slightly more pinpointed than I would like for clitoral use. I'm not someone who struggles with flexibilty/mobility, but I'm sure there are women who have a hard time reaching with tiny clit vibrators, and the extra length on this toy would make it easy for them to reach.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Lavish has dual motors, one in the tip, and one near the base. Each motor has 3 speeds, and there are no patterns. There are seperate buttons for each motor, so you can have each one on a different power setting, but there is one power button that turns them both onto low. This means you can't have one motor turned off and only use the other. When I'm using this as a g-spot vibrator, I don't have the lower motor inserted, so it's wasted. The same goes for clitoral use. The second motor doesn't add anything to my experience, and just wastes the batteries.

The motor in the base is also not as powerful as the one in the tip. When I have my hand in the middle of the toy, it's easy to feel the increase in power when I have the base motor on high, then turn the tip motor up. When I have the tip motor on high, I can't even feel the different power levels in the base motor.

Lavish's vibrations are quite strong and deep. To compare it to another vibrator, it is similar in strength and frequency to MiMi, but is actually stronger and slightly deeper. It isn't what I would call quiet, and will most likely be heard through a closed door.

The toy runs on 4 AAA's, which I'm not a huge fan of. I'd prefer to have all my toys be rechargeable, or at least take my rechargeable AA's, so that I only have to keep one type of battery around. The battery cap screws off easily, and inside is a battery holder that slides out. It has diagrams showing which way the batteries go into the holder, and the holder only fits inside the toy in one direction. I like this design, because it allows me to quickly remove and reinsert the batteries (you shouldn't store your toys with batteries inside.) It also helps keep my batteries organized, so I don't have new batteries and half used batteries all rolling around in a drawer together.

There is an o-ring inside the battery cap, and it does stand up to submersion with no leaking.

Care and Maintenance

Lavish is non-porous and waterproof, so you can quickly and easily clean it with soap and water or toy cleaner. Plastic is compatible with any type of lubricant, and will not react with other toy materials.

Packaging

The Lavish came in one of Evolved's tin cases, which I think are probably the nicest packaging I've seen from a non-luxury toy company. It has a plastic lid that is held on with metal closures on either end that clamp shut. It would work well for storage, but I got rid of mine since I have a lot of toys and it took up too much space. You could easily a few other small toys into the case with the Lavish. It isn't discreet while the toy is inside, since you can see it through the lid. I also wouldn't want to leave it out on my dresser to store other things in, since anyone who reads the writing will figure out that a vibrator came in it. The Lavish didn't come with any real instructions, but there was a small amount of information on the tin.

Personal comments

I've had the Lavish for almost a year and a half. It hasn't gotten a TON of use, but the motors are still working perfectly. The only wear and tear to the toy is that some of the metallic plating is starting to wear off on the back, where it rests against the bottom of my toy box.
