Lucid dream no. 99 sex toy review

This is a visually stunning but overrated product. The vibration mode is adequate, but the amount of flaws, namely the sound, the buttons, and the lacking pressure and arc of the shaft rotation, does not allow me to recommend it fully.

Pros
It is visually stunning, has a great design for the battery, has easy cleanup, and intense vibration
Cons
Too loud, buttons are small, and there is not enough pressure or arc with the shaft rotation.

Initially, I was very happy to be selected to write a review for Lucid Dream, No. 99|Lucid dream no. 99 - G-spot vibrator by Doc Johnson, especially after reading the favorable description and how people have rated it four stars. I have to say, however, that this was one of the more disappointing vibrator experiences that I have had.

This came as a surprise to me as well, for the vibrator was visually stunning and looked very promising, both with its beautiful pink color and elegant yet funky “squirmy” shape. I was also initially impressed by the design of where they put the batteries. The battery compartment  is separate, which is a smart move in making clean up a breeze. After I popped in the three double-A batteries, screwed on the cap, and was ready to play, the trouble started.

On the handle region, there are several small buttons: five main ones, two pairs of up and down arrows, and a central button. One pair of arrows is delegated for increasing and decreasing the vibrator function; the other pair is for increasing and decreasing the G-spot rotation function, and the last button in the middle  is to switch the direction of the shaft.

To turn it on, you simply press one of the up arrows to get it started and then you are given three levels of intensity for both the vibration and the G-spot rotation… so a pretty simple design. What’s bad is that it is difficult to PRESS the buttons, especially if one is using it under poor lighting conditions or under the covers. The buttons do not have enough of a relief to them to ‘feel’ for them, and therefore, you run the risk of pushing the wrong button or intensity.

The other main flaw of this toy is that it is extremely loud, so loud that I could not test the highest functions because I was worried that people would think that I was running a blender in my room. This sound issue is interesting in that it is unnoticeable at first, but when positioning the toy to your happy spots with different angles and pressures, the toy’s motor grows louder or more annoying. Even though the another review warned about the greater noise is due to the better engine, the packaging blatantly stated that it was “virtually silent.”

On a slightly more positive note, even though I did fumble with the buttons and it did make a racket, the vibrator function does pack an okay punch. It is too loud, however, for what it truly doesn’t deliver. This is the same scenario with the G-spot rotation shaft, where it didn’t give enough arc or pressure to justify the racket or to give me a satisfying finish.

So, I’m sorry to report that I think this is an overrated product. You can reach an orgasm with it, but I think there are simply better products available at the same price that are much more satisfying.
