Luxe replenish - clitoral vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by Taylor

The Luxe replenish is a massager style vibrator. You could really use it just about all over for teasing and stimulation. My favorite way to us it though was clitorally. The curves of the toy fit the curves of my hand and my body perfectly to be used clitorally. I would not recommend trying to use it internally since it would be difficult to hold onto it well white doing so. The manufacturer's instructions also say that it for external use only. You can use the tip for precise stimulation or lay it flat for a more widespread feeling. It does get pretty slippery when using use, so just use a small bit. It would work well both in solo use and couples use. I think it could work well on men too for a different sensation on the testicles or perineum.

Luxe Replenish is made of ABS plastic. It is completely rigid with no give at all. The top section has a velvety finish while the underside is very smooth. There are some seams in the plastic, but nothing that really got in the way of playing but it can be a bit of a challenge to clean in the seams really thoroughly.

The directions on the packaging say to only use water base lubes with this toy, so that is what I did and had no problems with it. I don't see why using a silicone based lube would cause any problems, but try that at your own (or toy's rather) risk.

The only problem I had with the texture was that it got a little too slippery to hold onto when I was using lube. Using it "dry" and in the shower without lube I had no problems with it being too slippery to hold but using lube made it really difficult to hold.

I really liked the size and shape of the replenish. It is 5 inches long and a little over an inch and a half wide. It's curved on both the top and the bottom so it will fit perfectly in your hand and also around your pubic mound if using it clitorally. The It is curved more at the tip and has a bit of a "belly" around the battery case.

It's small size makes it easy to stow away and hide so in that sense it is discreet. It doesn't scream tacky sex toy, but I would guess that most people would know what it is on first sight so I wouldn't leave it out if there was any concern about people seeing it.

The toy's vibrations traveled throughout the entirety of the toy, but are stronger in the tip near where the motor is located. I liked that the vibrations could be felt throughout the toy, but I did notice that after using it for a while that my hands felt a little numb where I had been using it. It didn't bother me, but I know that may not be something that everyone wants to deal with.

I thought the strength of the vibrations were pretty good considering it runs on two AAA batteries. This isn't the strongest vibrator I've ever felt, but it is by no means weak either. It should be adequate for most people unless you just need incredibly strong vibrations. The multiple settings should help the majority of people find a level of vibration that will work for them. The vibrations themselves felt somewhere in between buzzy and thuddy to me, the stronger settings did start to feel a bit more buzzy though.

Replenish has two buttons for controls. One is the on/off button and the other scrolls through the settings. When the on/off button is pressed the buttons light up so that you know that the toy is on. This is a good thing too because you can have your toy on but not running so this is helpful to know for sure that you have turned it off. The buttons take a fair amount of pressure to press them down so there weren't as many accidental button presses as I have with a lot of my other toys. It's not that it is difficult to push the buttons, but it's difficult enough that you aren't going to be accidently changing settings when you don't mean to.

There are 7 settings total:
low
medium
high - this one felt pretty buzzy though it was quite strong
low to high escalating - starts low and increases up to high over about 5 seconds and then repeats itself.
medium speed pulses - 2 pulses per second
fast pulses - about twice as fast as the medium pulses
pattern - bzz bzz bzz bzzzzzzzzzz bzz bzz bzz bzzzzzzzzz

It was about average noise-wise. The packaging says whisper quiet, but that's not exactly true. It's by no means an extremely loud toy, but saying it is whisper quiet is a bit of a stretch. So just taking some precautions like closing the door and playing some music will help prevent others from hearing it.

The packaging claims that it is completely waterproof, but based on my usage I would say that it is more splashproof. I did use it in the shower a couple of times with no problems and no water leaking inside. When I tried submerging it however, a little bit of water got inside the battery case. IT didn't effect the performance of the toy, but I would be concerned that taking a full bath with the replenish might let too much water in.

Luxe replenish is pretty straightforward to care for. The instructions say to wash before and after each use. Using antibacterial soap and water or a toy cleaner would both be good options for the toy. Just be sure to clean extra well near the seams of the toy.

The directions also say to remove the batteries when not using the toy. This is not only good advice for this toy, but for all toys as it will help extend the life of your batteries.

The packaging was simple, but adequate. It's a plastic box with a picture of the toy and some see through parts where you can see the toy inside. There are instructions for the toy on the outside of the box, but there's no insert or anything with additional instructions. This was fine though because Replenish wasn't a complicated toy that needed a lot of instructions. The box hold up well enough if you want to store your toy in it, but I didn't bother to keep the packaging and just stored it in a plastic bag in my toy box.

One thing that I thought was a really nice touch was that on the box there was an address to a website where you can register your Luxe replenish. So I went and registered my toy and found that they have a warranty on the toy good for one year from the purchase date against any mechanical failure. That instilled a lot of confidence in me about this toy knowing that it isn't just a cheap piece of garbage, but something that they will guarentee will work properly.
