L’Amour Thumper - g-spot rabbit vibrator discontinued by Cal Exotics - review by ksparkles16

I’m a huge lover of rabbit vibrators. I love those little bunny ears on my clit! In my quest to find my favorite rabbit vibrator, I stumbled upon California Exotics' L’Amour premium silicone massager Thumper. Ok, that name is super long. Quick! Say it three times fast!
Although Thumper quite didn’t fit the bill for me, it’s still a great and beautiful rabbit. If it fits you right, it may work well at stimulating both the G-spot and clitoris. Unfortunately for me, I couldn’t get it to do both at the same time because of the smaller rabbit and little ears. I think this can be a great rabbit if you have already tried some and know what works for you. Do you prefer bigger or smaller rabbits? Thumper is definitely a great smaller rabbit. He's also waterproof if you want to have some fun in the tub!

Thumper is a really nice, high quality rabbit. I love the silicone feel of this rabbit versus the typical jelly most rabbits use. There aren’t a lot of silicone rabbits available, so I was really excited to find one! The Thumper's silicone is very soft and smooth. It kind of has a rubbery feel but is still comfortable. Thumper has a little drag. With some water based lube however, it glides very easily. A little lube goes a long way with this vibrator. I definitely think silicone is the way to go for rabbits. The only rabbits I will buy from now on will be silicone. Silicone is a very safe material to use. It's non-porous and hypo-allergenic. The only negative thing about Thumper's material is that it does tend to attract lint and hair a lot.

Jelly rabbits aren’t very safe and definitely not as comfortable. Plus, I absolutely hate that jelly smell! I accidentally stored some of my silicone toys with my jelly ones, and now they all smell like jelly! The Thumper didn’t smell when I got him, but now he smells like jelly. Never again will I do this! I now store all my toys separately in plastic bags.

The Thumper doesn’t really have any texture. The shaft has some seams on the shaft, but I didn’t really feel them when inserted. They are just there for design. The shaft has a slight curve at the top to help massage your G-spot. This is a great rabbit for you if you don’t like texture. The silicone also helps make the clitoral attachment flexible and a little bendy. It’s not super flexible, but you can move it a bit to help it find your sweet spot.

The design of Thumper may not work for all. Unfortunately for me, Thumper didn’t fit me right. I'm so sad because I love Thumper otherwise! It has such a great comfortable feel and is silicone. However, the bunny clitoral attachment wasn't long enough to reach my clitoris.

Just to note, Thumper doesn’t have beads in the shaft like most rabbits. The beads normally don't work for me anyway, so I wasn't disappointed. The shaft is smooth silicone with a curved top to help massage your
G-spot. When you turn the shaft on, the top of it circles around or rotates instead of vibrating. The size of the shaft is fairly average. It has a diameter of 1 1/4" and an insertable length of 5". The size definitely wouldn't please Size Queens out there but would fit perfectly with the more average user.

My main issue was with the bunny clitoral attachment itself. If your clitoris isn’t far from your vaginal opening, you’ll have more success with Thumper. My clitoris is further away, and the rabbit ears were too short to reach my clit when inserted. Most rabbits that I have had in the past have bigger bunnies that are at least an inch bigger. The Thumper doesn’t have a very big bunny. The clitoral attachment measures 1 1/2".


When I put pressure on it with my finger the ears reached a little farther at 1 3/4".


I should have done more research before, but I was really excited to try Thumper out. I definitely recommend that you research a little bit before buying a more expensive toy. I've learned my lesson!
I also didn’t really like the ears on Thumper. They are little and pointy, and I climax easier if the ears are bigger and touch more of my clitoris. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t work for you. I definitely think this will work better if you are more sensitive and can climax easier. I have a clit of steel, so I need more pressure and power.


I don’t think this would be a great toy to travel with. I would go for a smaller clitoral vibrator. It’s not really discreet either. If someone saw it, they would know it’s a famous rabbit! You can hide it easily enough if you put it in a pouch or box.

As I said before, the design of Thumper didn’t fit me well. Sadly, Thumper didn’t reach my clitoris. In order to get somewhere, I had to take Thumper out and directly put the rabbit ears on my clit. I liked it, but it still took a long while to climax. For me, the issue was a combination of weaker vibrations and those little bunny ears. Even though there wasn’t as much power as I would have liked, the gentle vibes may be plenty for some of you. It’s not weak by any means. It’s a decent amount of power, especially if you are more sensitive. The vibrations in the clitoral attachment are definitely more buzzy than rumbly. When pressure is applied, the power of the rabbit ears don't diminish. Thumper's power will definitely please most of you out there. I have a clit of steel, so I'm hard to please. I was still able to orgasm, but not as fast as I would have liked.
The rotations of the shaft are very small circles. Even at its highest setting, it is barely noticeable. If you clench your vaginal muscles, the shaft still rotates very well. For me, it is comfortable but not really noticeable. The shaft wasn’t enjoyable for me, but I tend to need more power and movement.

The controls on Thumper are convenient and really easy to use. There are only three buttons to worry about. You have to press two buttons in order to turn it on. This is a great feature as it won’t accidentally turn on! The first button on the bottom is the on/off switch.


Once you press the on/off button, the control pad lights up a pretty blue color. Cool!

The middle button controls the vibrations in the bunny, and the top button controls the rotating shaft. Three buttons made it fairly easy to use during play. There are three steady modes of vibration and three modes of steady shaft rotation. There are two vibration pattern modes in the ears. The first pattern provides short bursts of power in the ears at the same speed. The second pattern provides escalating bursts of vibration in the ears.
The Thumper is controlled with three AAA batteries placed in the bottom compartment. It is tight, but it fits rechargeable batteries as well. You simply turn the compartment to open.


One thing that really impressed me about Thumper is how quiet he is. Normally, rabbits can be quite loud when you combine the rotating shaft and the vibrating ears. My goodness, Thumper sure is quiet. I would have no hesitation using her while living with other people. I highly doubt you could even hear him outside of the covers. It’s as loud as a cell phone vibrating. It is one of the quietest toys I have ever owned (competing with my rechargeable vibrators). This will work great for those of you who have roommates and need a quiet toy!
Even though this toy didn’t fit me right, I can still appreciate that this is a great quality rabbit. The silicone shaft feels really great when rotated internally versus the plastic like feel of most rabbits.

Thumper is really easy to clean! It's waterproof, so you can wash it in warm water. It's definitely much easier to clean than jelly. You can also clean silicone with a 10% beach solution. Although you can sterilize silicone by boiling it or putting it in the dishwasher, do not do this with Thumper as it could ruin the motor. I store my Thumper in a plastic bag under my bed.
Since Mr. Thumper is silicone, make sure you don't use silicone lubes as it could ruin him! Stick to a water based lube.

Like most California Exotics' toys, the packaging was nothing special. Thumper was placed in a clear plastic package. On the back, it listed features about the toy. It's definitely not discreet. You could reuse the plastic case if you want, but I recycled mine and put Thumper in my toy box. There weren't any detailed instructions, but the back of the box listed what each button does.

I was really sad Thumper didn't work out for me, but he could definitely be your next best friend!
