Potential to Bond

I selected this toy to replace a vibrator that I only used on my clit. I wanted something with patterns and escalations that I could use mostly for solo time and this does that. I would give this 3.5 stars if I could, but I will only give it 3 because of the noise level.

Use

The Unity by Evolved Novelties is a black, dual-headed, dual-motored massager that offers different pattern and vibrations. The concept of this is that with two motors, you can choose your vibrations speed and pulsation pattern separately and customize your vibration pleasures. You can also use it internally as a G-spot toy and use it for thrusting, or you can use it externally as a massager or a clitoral stimulator.

Due to the length of this toy and the fact that the G-spot end goes from a very small point and widens gradually could mean that you can use this anally, but I would recommend that you only do so with a partner who has a firm grip on the toy, as it does not have a flared base. We, however, did not use it this way.

This toy can be used by anyone who wants either G-spot or clitoral stimulation, either in the shower, tub, or in the bedroom. You could also use the pinpoint of the G-spot end to tease nipples, testicles, or the perineum.

Material / Texture

The Unity is made with body-safe ABS plastic and has a nice velvety cote to it. It's very smooth, and has bulges all over the toy to increase your stimulation when you are using this internally. There was no odor or, I'm assuming, taste to the toy when I received it. This smooth texture is good for basic to advanced users.

Design / Shape / Size

The Unity certainly looks sexy. It has two different heads that serve different functions. It is curved for G-spot stimulation on one end and has a very small, bulged tip for pin-point G-spot stimulation. You can use this for some thrusting against your G-spot, but it is hard and rigid. This side is also good for clitoral stimulation since the point is so small, it makes for great pin-point action on your clit.

There is a wider, more rounded tip on the other side that is good to use to stimulate your vulva, U-spot, and clitoris. This side, in my opinion, is not really designed for insertion or thrusting because it's so short and close to the controls, but it does say on the product page that you can insert it.

A beginner will like this toy because it offers different options in one toy. The way that it tapers is very non-threatening, in my opinion. An advanced user will appreciate its pinpoint capabilities as well as how girthy it can become. Since it's so long, it is also really nice that you don't have to stretch too far to use it externally or internally.

This toy is rather large, and not very discreet in looks. I suppose you could pass it off as a neck massager, but I don't think anyone will buy that.

All the measurements on this toy's product page are correct, and you can see them here.

Functions / Performance / Controls

What is really unique about the Unity is that it has dual motors. One that is designated for vibration speed and one that is designated for patterns. When counting all the different patterns, I only counted 15.

Speeds (Control button with the Fleur de Lis):
1. Medium
2. Medium-High
3. High

Patterns (Control button with the Heart):
1. Short, steady pulses
2. Short-short-long, then repeat
3. Escalating from very low to very high.

Then you can use any of these controls solo or any combination of them. Frankly, though, using them together is not, for me, very helpful because it's such a powerful toy that they kind of all blend together.

The packaging says "Maximum intensity with minimal noise." Minimal is relative and I'm glad it makes no promises of discreet sounds... because it's LOUD. It has two motors and uses four (yes... 4!) AAA batteries. It has a lot more power than it seems like it should. Enough to make your fingers, clit, and vulva numb. You think itchy fingers is a problem? How about forgetting you HAVE fingers!?! On the third pattern there is a whining sound when the motor is revving and frankly, with all three pattern levels, the motor just sounds like it's about to come apart. You definitely want to turn on some music or the TV if you're looking for discretion.

To put in the batteries, you unscrew the toy to take it apart and put the batteries in. Then you want to screw it as tight as you can until the Evolved logo is directly under the controls. If you do not get it all the way there, it will be awkward during use if you want to cycle through to different speeds/patterns during use. When you close it tight like that, however, it can make a sound that sounds as if the plastic is cracking, so you don't want to use too much force. Mine is NOT cracked, however. I just don't trust that it won't crack in the future.
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Not discreet at all
    • Powerful

Care and Maintenance

Since the Unity is waterproof and made of ABS plastic, this is really easy to care for. You can wash the whole thing with toy cleaner and warm water, then dry it off and put it away. You can also use isoporpyl (rubbing) alcohol to kind of "disinfect" it, but I want to be clear: rubbing alcohol will not sterilize any toy to make it safe for sharing, so if you want to share the toy, please wrap it in a condom. I take my batteries out to put it away so they last longer. I keep it in the tin it came in because I don't have a pouch for it and it keeps it from getting dusty in my night stand. Since it is plastic, it is compatible with any kind of lubricant you want to use: water, silicone, or oil, and the velvety cote gets nice and slippery when it's lubed up.

Packaging

What I do really love about this is the tin that it came in. It's perfect for storing the toy, since it has a foam insert that keeps it in place. It's also such a lovely tin, that it makes a nice gift. It did come with a little slip of information, but I can't find it now and I don't remember what it said, but I think it talked mostly about batteries and the patterns. The back of the tin does have most of the product information on it, so I was not too concerned with losing the slip of paper.
    • Good for storage
    • Very informative
    • Would make a nice gift

Experience

Now let's get to the good stuff. Since the Unity uses 4 AAA batteries, it has a lot of power. I have used this with My Mr. and also alone and I have to say that I much prefer this for solo time. Especially when I just want a quick, clitoral orgasm. When playing with My Mr., I like to take my time reaching orgasm and will, therefore, put off my orgasm to make the play session last longer. This massager is not ideal for a long session. Since it is powerful, all your bits get a little buzzy and numb.

The G-spot end. I really didn't enjoy using this internally. It does have a defined curve, which I do like, but since it the tip is so small, sometimes it will turn to the side and I don't really notice it. I much prefer a wider area on my g-spot. Even though the plastic transfers vibrations very well throughout the toy, it is still most felt at the motors which, when inserted, are right at the vulva and will still make you numb, distracting from your experience.

The clitoral end of the toy is nice and wide and is great for stimulating your entire vagina externally. On "Low," it feels really good to warm up your lips, U-spot (which is the slightly erectile, very erogenous tissue around the urethra), and the clitoris.

I much prefer pinpoint stimulation for clitoral orgasms, and I find that I can cum in just a few minutes of play with the G-spot end on my clitoris. It's that powerful. To me, that makes this a great solo toy. I'm really very happy with my selection and it will definitely get used. Whether it will be a go-to, I'm not sure, but it has potential!
Follow-up commentary
This doesn't get pulled out too often, but it still gets used. Despite the noise, it's the only toy I have that even comes close to the power that my MiMi provides, so if she's not adequately charged, this is the only toy that I have that can keep up. That said, I like the steady vibrations on this much more than the patterns. The patterns get lost in the vibrations if the steady motor is on.
