Power, size, and quality. You do get what you pay for.

The Elise is perfect for you if you're craving size, power, and quality. With intense vibrations from dual motors, an array of intensity levels and patterns, and the convenience of a rechargeable battery, the Elise embodies the term "luxury pleasure object." However, the Elise might be too large for beginners, too loud for those with roommates, and too restrictive for those wanting a toy to use in the shower. It's an investment, yet it delivers with power and intense orgasms.

Use

If you really enjoy the feeling of being stuffed and are looking for intense vibrations with a variety of vibration patterns, this toy was made for you. The Elise is the largest of LELO's original line of toys and is incredibly well-designed. Its curved shaft is designed to provide G-spot stimulation and it fits well to a woman's inner curve.

The Elise was actually my first vibrator (I thought if I splurged, I'd feel satisfied and would never need another toy again... boy, was I mistaken) and I have to admit that it was a lot to handle. Shallowly underneath the high-quality silicone shaft exterior is hard plastic. Because of this, there is little "give" to the product and it does not compress as you slide it inside. Because I was using the toy for solo play and did not have the benefit of foreplay to relax and open up my vaginal muscles, inserting the thick, inflexible Elise shaft was remarkably painful, even with adequate water-based lubricant.

Because of this, I mainly used the Elise for external stimulation during solo play. For this purpose, it works like a charm! With two motors, multiple vibration patterns, and a variety of intensity levels, the Elise can help you find the perfect setting to reach that big-O moment. Plus, the curve fits nicely against a woman's exterior, with one motor pressing against the clitoris while the other presses against the perineum.

Because I was able to more comfortably insert the Elise during couples play (after intercourse), I admit the Elise is a great way to finish a woman off. When the Elise is comfortably inserted, it is a powerhouse that can provide intense orgasms very quickly.

Elise will provide the best results for couples and for women seeking a larger, more powerful insertable vibrator. Anyone looking for an averaged-sized insertable vibrator should take a look at LELO's smaller options. This vibrator also is strictly for use outside of the shower or tub, as it is not waterproof. Also, as a result of the high-intensity vibrations, the Elise makes a noticeable amount of noise and is not in any way discreet.

Material / Texture

I have to disagree with Eden Fantasy's labeling of the Elise having a material safety grade of 8. It ought to be 10, as the only insertable part of the Elise is of medical-grade silicone, which is a 10 on their charts. They gave it an 8, as the base/controls are made of hard plastic. However, as proper use of the Elise does not involve inserting the control handle, I believe the toy deserves a 10.

The medical-grade silicone on the shaft is high-quality and non-odorous, so the common worries about material safety are a non-issue with the Elise. The silicone shaft (which is the only part you should insert, as the base is where the non-waterproof functions are) is smooth and skin-like. Actually, it is smoother than the shaft of a penis, so it can really easily glide into you (which makes it great for pulling it out and thrusting it back in) if you can accommodate its size. However, if you prefer more textured toys for stimulation, you may want to look elsewhere.

Design / Shape / Size

First of all, LELO does impeccable design for all of their products. They don't make things cutesy or realistic, but rather sensuously and ergonomically shaped, with an attention to functionality. Unlike other companies that either design toys in shades of ballerina pink with glitter and cute animals or design them to look like exact molds of porn star's cocks, LELO's designs aren't an imitation, but rather objets d'art in themselves.

In regards to LELO's Elise in particular, the shape and design is highly erotic. Its abstract shape elevates the Elise from a mere sex "toy" to a "pleasure object." The color also seems very adult. I have the purple Elise and the color is rich and sultry. In all, the Elise is very aesthetically pleasing, which I think is important for an object intended for intimate purposes.

As a matter of Elise's size (as mentioned above), it is larger than many insertable vibrators, so it may be better suited for advanced users or those that are intentionally seeking a larger-than-average toy. I think that Elise works better for couple's play (specifically, finishing a woman off after intercourse), as inserting Elise during solo play is quite a stretch.

Due to Elise's size, the toy isn't very easy to hide. Anybody who knows what a vibrator is could guess Elise's function. However, as it isn't a replica of a penis, it's definitely more discreet than most alternatives out there. Also, Elise has a travel function so it won't go off in your luggage accidentally. However, don't expect to be fooling any TSA agents.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Elise has a circular control pad on the base of the toy. The pad's four arrows are easy to press and to figure out. You press the left and right ones to alter the intensity of the vibrations and the up and down arrows to change the pattern of pulsations. Its ease of use, multiple variations, and centrally located control pad (easily handled with one hand) are all assets to the Elise. My only complaint in this department is that sometimes the controls are too easy to press – I've accidentally (and untimely) pressed the buttons and changed the vibration patterns.

With two internal motors (one in the bulbous tip and one closer to where the silicone ends), the vibration patterns provided by the Elise are more complex and stimulating than with any other toy I've ever used. The dual motors also cause a more intense vibration through the length of the toy. Unlike with single-motor vibrators, the Elise has no issues of the vibrations conducting throughout. However, as a result of its impressive power, the Elise isn't quiet. It also isn't waterproof, which restricts where the Elise may be used.

Also notable, the Elise has a very convenient travel function, which makes it near-impossible to go off in your luggage. The Elise is rechargeable, so you never have to worry about it becoming weak from drained batteries. Recharging is simple, as the glowing ring around the control pad indicates both when it needs to be charged and when it is fully charged.

Care and Maintenance

As the Elise is made of silicone, it is very important to only use water-based lubricants. Silicone-based lubricants, though they have their advantages, will make the Elise's surface deteriorate over time... which is not something you want to have happen to a $150 vibrator.

Also, because the Elise is not waterproof, make sure not to submerge it during cleaning. I use a washcloth, warm water, and antibacterial dish soap before and after every use, making sure not to get the control panel too wet. I then let the device air dry and keep it in the original LELO case that came with the toy. This method seems to work well, as the toy is in like-new condition after two years of use.

This toy is not hard to clean, it just takes a little more care. Actually, because the Elise is so smooth and has no crevices for bacteria to harbor in, it's easier to clean than most of my other toys.

Packaging

The Elise comes in a beautiful, heavyweight black box. Inside is a plastic tray that holds the Elise. Underneath the tray, there is room to keep the instructions and charger.

The packaging is so stunning and discreet that it makes a perfect case for the toy when not in use. If you're giving it as a gift, you probably don't even have to worry about wrapping it. Just slip on a bow and you've got a gorgeous present.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Would make a nice gift
