Extase Elegance - traditional vibrator discontinued by Extase - review by SMichelle

Extace's Elegance is a traditional vibrator that is available in three great colors: pink, black, and purple. I purchased the pink. This was my very first rechargeable vibrator. While I am impressed with the quality, it's just not a toy that I ever found much use for. The vibrations are just not enough for me, though the shape is nice. Even though this toy didn't rock my little world, it's still a great vibrator.

If you choose to take a change on Elegance, you can use it in multiple ways. It's suitable for both couples and solo play, although I personally prefer to use this vibrator alone. The size of it just makes it kind of get in the way during couples play, in my experience. Your experience may differ, however.

This toy is excellent for clitoral stimulation. The rounded tip feels fantastic against my clitoris, but it doesn't offer enough power for me to orgasm this way. It is a good warm up toy, though. You can also use this to stimulate other areas of your body, such as your nipples. I adore the way the smooth, soft silicone feels as it glides over my skin.

You can also insert the toy vaginally. The dual motors inside of the toy provide a really interesting sensation, though again, I require more to push me over the edge. The toy is also shaped fantastically for g-spot stimulation, as it has a very slight and subtle curve to it. If you require more of a curve, this isn't going to be for you.

I, personally, don't recommend this for anal use, as there is no flared base. That being said, the toy is 9" long, so the odds of it getting stuck in your bum is extremely unlikely. Still, for the sake of being completely safe, you shouldn't stick this in your bum.

The Elegance is made primarily of food-grade silicone, which rates as a 10 on Eden's safety scale. The silicone on this toy is hypoallergenic, non-porous, and both latex and phthalates free -- making it very safe.

The silicone is a very thin layer, so you're not going to get that "squishy" feeling that a lot of other silicone toys have. In fact, this toy is completely firm -- you can't bend it, or squeeze it, at all. The silicone does feel very soft to the touch, though. In fact, it feels so soft, that I just really want to stroke it for hours on end. It's an amazingly soft, and completely smooth silicone. I didn't notice even the slightest drag on the material.

There are some ridges that are found around the top half of the vibrator. These ridges sort of circle around the head. I was unable to feel these ridges during use, but they do look kind of cool. If you're extremely sensitive to texture, you may be able to feel them. I don't think that the texture will be overwhelming to anyone, though.

There were also no unpleasant odors or tastes coming from this toy.

When I first the Elegance vibrator in person, I thought it was kind of big. It does measure 9" in total length, after all. Of that 9", only 5 3/4" of it is insertable. The toy also measures 1 3/8" in diameter at the largest point. So, while it's a big vibrator, it's a suitable size for most anyone. Size queens may find themselves wanting more, however.

The vibrator is traditional in shape. For the most part, it's straight, but then it has a very, very subtle curve to it. This curve is intended to provide some g-spot stimulation.

This toy isn't really discreet, so it's not one that you're going to want to leave out. If you're shy, you also may not want to travel with this. Personally, I have no problem putting this in my checked luggage for a flight, as it does have a feature that enables you to lock the vibrations (preventing it from turning on accidentally throughout your travels).

The great thing about this vibrator is that it's rechargeable. The charging port is located on the bottom of the toy, and you have two options for charging. You can charge it via USB port on your computer, or you can charge it with a wall charger. Like most rechargeable toys, this one cannot be used while it's being charged -- which is kind of a disappointment. But, as this toy is rechargeable, you don't need to worry about buying those expensive batteries!

The controls are located on the lower half of the toy; there are four simple press buttons. There's a "+", "-", and then two arrows (one pointing up, one pointing down). To turn the vibrator on, you press "+". If you press and hold the "+" button, it'll take you to the highest level of vibration. By doing this, you will only access the steady, consistent vibrations. There are a great deal of steady of vibration settings. The lowest one rates at about a 1 on both bees and vrooms, whereas the highest one is about a 3 1/2" on vrooms, and 2 bees. The vibrations are rumbley, and they do travel well throughout the entire toy.

Now, if you want patterns, press one of the arrows. There are five levels of patterns, which include both pulsating patterns, and escalating patterns. The cool thing about this vibrator is that it has two motors -- so that gives a really interesting feeling, especially when the two motors sort of switch back and forth in the pattern modes.

Unfortunately this toy doesn't seem to remember which setting you left off at, so you'll need to find your favorite level of vibration all over again when you use it again. Not a big hassle, but it is a feature that the toys lacking.

This toy is, sadly, not waterproof. It is, however, splashproof.

This toy doesn't attract lint and dust as much as some other silicone toys do. In fact, I find that this one actually stays clean -- which is really nice. You're still going to want to clean it after each use, though.

To clean this toy, you can use antibacterial soap and water. You may also use a toy cleaner, or a toy wipe. If you wish to sterilize it, you can use a 10% bleach solution. Please do not attempt to sterilize this toy by placing it in your dishwasher, or boiling it... this toy features electrical parts, and doing that will ruin your nice, expensive toy! For storage, I prefer to keep this in a toy pouch in my toy box.

As for lubricant, you should use only water-based lubes. This is because silicone based lubricants may ruin your toy.

The packaging for this is nice, and it would be suitable for storage. That being said, the packaging is not discreet, and it does take up a fair amount of room.

The vibrator itself sits on the top level of the packaging, in a nice area that has a padded, shaped area to hold the vibrator.

The lower level of the packaging is the drawer, which holds the cord that is needed to charge the vibrator, and instructions.


The vibrator comes packaged with a nice pouch, so I prefer to use that for storage. It takes up less room, and it allows me to store the vibrator in more convenient locations.

All in all, this is one quality vibrator. I do enjoy it, but I find that I need something else to push me over the edge. Still, it's a nice teaser. The high quality materials and craftsmanship also make this toy well worth the expensive price.
