Le Reve Bullet - bullet discontinued by Pipedream - review by Tori Rebel

The LaReve bullet is first and foremost, adorable. I got mine in the light minty green and with the little band of chrome colored plastic around the battery cap, it looks like it belongs in a 1950's kitchen or diner. It comes packaged in a small black folded box, which contains a plastic case with the vibrator and 3 watch batteries included - which is always a plus in my eyes. It even includes that handy little coil of paper instructing you which direction to put the batteries in.

I used this bullet once, in bed, with my partner. It has three speeds of vibration that can be controlled with a black button at its base and is easy to control but not so easy to switch that it will happen accidentally. It made an audible and even buzzing noise, but nothing more than you'd expect from a toy of this size. And although I wouldn't classify the vibrations as anything more spectacular than most bullets in the same price range, it was a great clit stimulator and was able to bring me to orgasm on the medium and high speeds.

Although it has a very polished and high-end appearance, the toy is simply made of hard plastic but has a nice shiny finish to make it look a little better than comparable toys in the same category. And because it is made of hard plastic, it is non-porous and can be cleaned with warm water and antibacterial soap, and stored among other toys safely. It could also be stored in the plastic packaging that came inside the box if you chose to do so. It is 2" long and is waterproof, having a tight rubber seal inside the battery cap. The range of colors its available in is impressive and just the fact that it came with its own batteries made it an easy choice for me.

Sounds great, right? Well, it was. Until I tried to use it a second time. I'd had it running for a good 10-15 minutes the first time I used it, which was followed by washing with soap and water and immediately drying with a towel. It had worked beautifully, and exactly as described, so I was looking forward to using it again. So, I pressed the black button expecting to feel little ripples of pleasure from the lowest speed. I felt...nothing. I pressed it again...nothing. I took the batteries out and put them back in...nothing. I checked the insides to see if there was any moisture or evidence of such that could have snuck in when I cleaned it...nada. So I ran to the local drugstore and got replacement batteries. Came home, put them in as instructed, and......DEAD.

I liked the toy, I really did. I would have rated it higher if it had continued to work, but couldn't rate it too poorly because it was a really nice toy the one time I got to use it. I had all sorts of fun things planned for it, but it only worked once. I'm sure its not designed for single-use, and I hope they don't all work this way, but I can't find a good reason as to why mine died so quickly.
