The Husband Helps

Jenna's Velvet G delivers wonderful G-spot vibrations once inserted. However, due to the extreme hook located on the toy, I can't give users a compelling reason why they should give this product a try, knowing that many of them might end up in pain for their efforts.
Published:

Use

Jenna's Velvet G is a multi-speed vibrator designed especially for those interested in G-spot stimulation. This is a great toy for women who are curious about G-spot play. It's not as easy to use as it might look. Doc Johnson has unfortunately designed Jenna's Velvet G with a hook that some women might not be able to overlook once it catches on their pubic bone. The great news is that not all women are anatomically the same. What won't work for some will gladly make another's top ten list. For those who are interested in a product with great G-spotting ability and are not opposed to some partner help... I mean, play, give Jenna's Velvet G a try.

Material / Texture

Jenna's Velvet G has a hard plastic form covered by a velvet cote. The velvet cote has received an "8" on the Edenfantasys Material Safety Scale where "1" is the least safe and "10" is the safest. It's also non-porous and phthalate-free.

The vibrator is velvety and smooth to the touch. Jenna's Velvet G is very firm and inflexible. There's no taste or odor to the product at all.

Water and silicone based lubricants are the way to go for toys that are covered by a velvet cote.

Design / Shape / Size

The G-spot is the target area for Jenna's Velvet G. The vibrations are perfectly located in the egg-shaped head that is designed to nestle right against the G-spot. Its design is a bit unfortunate for my body type as it has an extreme hook to it. Granted, as long as it's inserted and sitting directly on my G-spot, everything is perfect. However, getting the toy into that perfect position and then back out afterwards is where the problems exist. I had to call in The Husband for help with these issues. It's for this reason that I'm going to say that Jenna's Velvet G works better with partner play and more advanced users. He was happy to oblige, although even he questioned the design. The Husband says my G-Spot measurements are: 1.5-2 inches inside my vagina, about .75-1inch in length, and .5 inches wide. The 'egg head' of this toy is a perfect fit, but once inserted, the handle has to be tilted downwards so that the egg nestles comfortably against my G-spot. I found that while sitting on a pillow or two might give you a great angle for that, it might not be the most comfortable position to climax in. This toy takes a bit of maneuvering in order to enjoy. My second picture compares Jenna's Velvet G to my cell phone and to my Fifi. My third picture compares the 'egg' to a regular MAC lipstick.

Jenna's Velvet G is powered by two AA batteries that insert into the base of the vibrator by screwing and unscrewing. The plastic seal surrounding the bottom of the vibrator, above the base, makes Jenna's Velvet G completely waterproof. However, make sure the cap is screwed on tightly before submerging it in water.

While it might look a little space-age in design, it's still quite obviously a vibrator. Take that into consideration when traveling or if company is coming over. There is a seam that runs horizontally across the face of the egg-shaped head of the vibrator. While it feels like a rather big seam, I couldn’t feel it when inserted.

The length is 9 inches. The circumference is 4.5 inches. The diameter is 4.5 inches. The weight is 6.5oz. Let me caution users here, although the product page lists an instertable length of 8 inches, I'm not so sure that this vibrator is meant to be inserted past the G-spot, due to its design. If you want to try it, be my guest. However, with that hook on it, I just had to warn you.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrations for Jenna's Velvet G are controlled by a dial-base. The dial-base is very easy to use, and one of my favorite ways to control vibrations when it comes to toys. The vibrations range from a one to a three on EdenFantasys VROOM scale. Unfortunately, due to the design of the toy, the dial-base points away from the body which means that you have to reach down the length of the shaft to adjust the vibrations.

I found the noise level to be moderately-loud compared to other toys of this same power level.

Care and Maintenance

Because this toy has a motor, it can't be fully sterilized. Please be aware that because it can't be completely sterilized, you don't need to share this toy without using a condom.

Quick and easy ways to disinfect/sanitize and clean are:
1. Use a clean, soft cloth and a 10% bleach solution to wipe down the toy.
2. Toy wipes, or any other wipe that says “sanitizing” or “anti-bacterial” on the packaging.
3. Rub together a bit of antibacterial soap and warm water and give the toy a good wipe down.
4. Use a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol.

When cleaning this toys and others like it (with little cracks and crevices) - use an old toothbrush to really get into the spaces that a washcloth can’t. You'll also want to rinse your toy really well with water after a good cleaning just to make sure that there's no cleaning products left that could set your inner bits aflame.

Let the toy air dry.

Packaging

Jenna's Velvet G comes packaged in a clear, plastic box decorated with orange swirlies and a scantily clad woman. It's not discreet in the least. It can be recycled, but I'd give a second thought to sending it off as a gift. The box informs us that the product is made from Velvet Touch, is waterproof, uses two AA batteries, and has multiple speeds.

I'm not crazy about using the box that Jenna's Velvet G came in for storage. Feel free to shop EdenFantasys storage selection for something more to your liking.

Personal comments

I found Jenna's Velvet G to be one of the most aggravating toys that I've ever owned. I can't even use it without the help of The Husband. Personally, I'm not interested in a toy that I can't insert into my own vagina without help from another individual. I will say that once it was inserted, the vibrations did feel wonderful. Just be prepared for what you're getting yourself into with this product.

Experience

I was genuinely happy with the vibrations of Jenna's Velvet G. They were strong and stimulating right on my G-spot. However, the fit of the toy was horribly painful. I was left calling for The Husband for help. Thank God he was home. He was able to get it in and out with relatively little pain. Regardless, when inserting any type of toy meant to bring me to orgasm, pain due to hooking on my pubic bone is not something I am ever satisfied with.
Follow-up commentary
Unfortunately, after a few more tries with Jenna's Velvet G, my pubic bone still hates her. Granted, once she's in place she can really do a number on your G-spot, but all the work it takes to get Jenna in place just isn't worth it to me. Admittedly, I have a hard time recommending her to anyone. Maybe they won't experience the same issues with their pubic bone that I did, but what if they do and I've recommended the product to them? The bottom line - purchase at your own risk.

I have to ask, what are you using for the background in your photos? Thanks for the great review.
  • Contributor: TheSinDoll
@Jimbo Jones - It's a nail lap-desk thingy. It has a soft cushion on the bottom and then the design part on top. Is it too much?
  • Contributor: PeaceToTheMiddleEast
No it is not to much that is actually cute. I should look into something like that. Mine I do on my bed on the sheets lol. Great review thanks for sharing!

Great review on this! This definitely looks like one that will hook onto the pubic bone, no fun!

Yikes, it's a good thing your husband was home. I'll stay away from this one for sure.

    I like your background too.
  • Contributor: Jimbo Jones
The background is pretty bold, but I was surprised at how well it matched the toy. I wasn't sure if it was part of the packaging or something.
  • Contributor: ViVix
I didn't think about the toothbrush. I've had a ridged cap on one of my toys that sometimes gets lube in it, and it is ridiculous to clean. Thanks for the tip!
