The Steubenville rapists, Trent Mays and Ma’Lik Richmond, were sentenced yesterday for violating an unconscious teenager at an alcohol-fueled party. But while the cycle of justice is over; many are asking if justice has really been done.

I have been following this it is wrong on so many levels. I think they only got a slap on the wrist. Who is to say they won't do it again? They should have got jail time.

Just like JustLikeHeaven said above, "who is to say they won't do it again?" And also, since they're getting off with a "slap on the wrist" (which is true), and people in their community are very much taking up for them and treating the victim like shit, and blaming her, then it's not only "they MIGHT do it again," but at this point it's like they're being given the message that it's OKAY to do it again. Gosh I've been so upset thinking about rape for the past couple of days. I could go on and on and on about this and how many wrongs there have been, but that would be lengthy. Lol. I think it's ridiculous though. I watched a video where the coach and a few others were soooo taking up for the little rapist bastards. It literally made me furious.

This is the first time I have heard the FULL story of what happened. I am utterly disgusted, and I feel so much for the girl who will be haunted by this horrible act for the rest of her life. Dang right they should have been tried as adults. I feel that if you are above the age of consent and think that you are OLD ENOUGH to have sex, consensual or by force, then you are OLD ENOUGH to take the ADULT consequences that come along with it. This article has my stomach in knots. It's disgusting what those boys did and the fact that the town supported them.
