Any insight?

I really don't like the idea of getting porous toys, especially when they are supposed to nestle into places where they can collect even weirder...

Rope can be tricky from what I have learned, when I got my first rope for bondage I also picked up a book with it to really learn more about it before I actually used it in any play.

I would practice tying the knots and such on myself or other objects because you can always tie them too tight, too loose and depending on what you are doing that could be bad (cutting off circulation and such)

Like anything with BDSM there is always wanting to be safe.

I think the reviewers are focusing in on the fact that it is rope. Rope CAN be dangerous (cutting, cutting off circulation, damaging joints from prolonged position, etc...). As with ANY new "toy" you should research and read up on it. I suggest starting by using the rope for a short period of time, one or two areas and then build up from there as you gain confidence and knowledge. Hope that helps.

There's a bit of a learning curve, but I think most danger can be avoided by starting with simple setups, and experimenting with more complicated ones as you become more knowledgeable. I personally love rope!
