Just a couple weeks ago, my partner tied me up with a bunch of belts. My arms were bound tight at my sides, with a couple belts wrapped around my torso, with one right above my breasts and one right below them, so they were framed nicely and pushed out by my arms on either side. My partner had his way with me, and I wasn't able to move or say much, since I was gagged at the time. I really enjoy being restrained and feeling helpless, and knowing my breasts looked fucking awesome was pretty nice too. The restraints did hurt a bit, and that turns me on. My boyfriend's a sadist who likes being in charge and causing me a bit of pain, and I'm sure the visual appeal of the bondage was a bonus for him as well.

I've never tried much with rope, so I can't speak to that particular kind of bondage, but I suspect the appeal is similar. If you like being restrained, and your partner likes the look of the bondage and can learn the proper techniques, it might be worth a shot. I suspect that it looks more painful than it actually is. Then again, I regularly yank out all of my pubes with an epilator, so my ideas about pain are far from normal.
