Essays and kneeling are good options. Extra chores is one of my least favorite things, so it's very effective on me. None of that makes any noise.

A guy I knew was really into the lifestyle and when he would find himself in this position, he would make her kneel on a small piece of wood for a period of time. It was a thin piece, think six paint stirrers glued together and it was easy to hide in their luggage.

i was also once made to kneel on uncooked rice on a hardwood floor once. Ouch. Then i was given a dustpan and brush and had to clean up all the rice while blindfolded.
