The one monthly thread was pretty cool. I forget what it was called.. Shoot.... well basically there would be 1-3 contributors where you got to ask them questions throughout that month. Maybe someone like this could happen again but maybe be a weekly thing instead of monthly? That way more contributors are given the chance to be asked questions and we'd get to know more about more contributors this way.

Ohhhhhh what about maybe a sculpture contest? Anyone who wants to participate can "design" a toy out of playdoh/modeling clay/whatever, and then try to "sell" it to the other members. Most votes wins?

The Reviewer's Spotlight? I put that on hiatus in October because of all of the events we were doing in December.

I want to start it up again and there will be a poll on that soon.

I think doing it weekly is probably too often and doesn't really give enough of a chance to get to know someone, but I'm open to bi-weekly.

In the past the Community Administrator picked people to spotlight based on the number of reviews they've done, their popularity in the community, and how long they've been here. I don't think that's the best way to set it up so we're going to try some other things this go 'round.

To take the idea even further, what if the winning design over the course of a year was presented to an actual company, tweaked, and put into production?

That would be WAY awesome!

Oh yes! Reviewer's Spotlight! I totally couldn't remember the name lol That's great that you'll be starting it up again soon! I didn't ask many questions but I always would read through the answers. Bi-weekly sounds good too! I must not be popular because I never was in the "spotlight" lol I like your idea of changing it up though. It gives everyone a chance to be featured. I'm sure a person feels special when they're featured so it'd be nice for newer members as well. I'm excited for this!

Silly goose! You weren't here long enough. The requirement was you had to be in the community for at least a year, when it came to you being up for the opportunity I was already taking it in a different direction and spotlighting our club hosts so the community knew who they were and what they do.

But, yes I do agree that it's a great way to make members feel appreciated and I want you guys to know that you don't have to be so reserved in your questions. Ask really crazy shit if you're wanting to get into peoples' heads and figure out a little bit more about who they are and what they're into.

The more we break out of the "standard issue interview" mode, the more opportunities we'll have for a closer community and possible events.

I agree! The Tweet button is right next to Facebook but does not count for any points!

the get to know you post made me think of this..

maybe we could do some sort of pin board and everyone put something for where they are from. Or something similar to show how diverse eden is and what country we are from...

I think we should also make sure people have reasons for voting a certain way. Like a feedback comment of some sort, possibly required. Not sure if names would help, but this type point farming is especially annoying to users that try hard to get good ratings on reviews.

Good post!

Similar to this, is there a possibility to get a message or email when I get a sponsored review item confirmed? My boyfriend has missed 2 different possible free products because he forgets to go look for them. Then the process starts all over again. We feel stupid every time though, because we should be watching daily, but sometimes it takes almost a month to get those confirmed.

Oops I just posted essentially the same thing since I only read about 5 posts before posting! Sorry to people who have to sort through suggestions, but I think this is a great idea, since I would love to give personal feedback without having to publicly comment or message using my personal info.

There should be some sort of agreement to act professionally, make sure everything you say/recommend is safe and clearly stated. With everything, there should also be a warning to viewers/subscribers that their participation is at their own risk and to use their best judgement to decide whether they are ready and able to put advice to use.

You can't be entirely responsible for everyone's mistakes, even if you are a professional.

I agree with this sentiment. Especially as someone who volunteered to do some of the massage and breathing stuff.
