Heck yes! There's something in the display of skill... that then also winds up being delicious...

Welcome to the March meeting of Eden Cooks, everyone!

And a very special welcome to Melissa Ramos, who's joining us today from Sexy Food Therapy . Com!

As we're waiting for everyone to trickle in, can you think of foods ... more
Strawberries. It's the first thing I think of and I don't know why because I feel like as much as one may try to look sexy while eating a strawberry it like, never works.

For me, some of the foods I find make me feel sexy are Holy-Land-esque food, and I'm not really sure why. Fresh homemade hummus, drizzled with olive oil and herbs, feels really sexy to eat on pita bread.

Juicy ripe pomegranates, and fresh figs are really sexy too.

Anybody with me, there?

Oh I totally agree! They *taste* sexy, even if they're hard to eat sexily.

Looks like it's a chai tea and Nutella kind of night for me! Both of them are really cozy food/drinks to me.

Oh man, I love hummus. My favorite restaurant for it is about 4 hours from where I live now, though.

Oooh, yum. Hazelnuts are sooo good, and even better when mashed into Nutella.

Cooking and eating well IS sexy for sure. Sexy is an all-encompassing adjective for HOW we feel and look based on the inside out. 97% of women said eating better improved their body image!

I'm all about habanero salsa when I'm emotional. I feel like the endorphin kick really helps... maybe it's just the placebo effect, but boy can habanero salsa bring me back to center if I'm feeling off.

Haha, I don't either. I've had them like once, and they were cooked and not bad but I've had no desire to eat them again.

Welcome. And I agree. I think when your body isnt filled with additives and gross stuff you feel better in general. And will feel sexier without the groggy, tired everything gross byproducts do to you out of your system.

The whole idea behind food being sexy isn't an aphrodisiac quality, but more so HOW it makes you feel. Can we honestly say that fast food is considered sexy? No, because how it makes us feel as a result!

This meeting is going to be even more action-packed than usual! As in most months, I'm going to be photo-walking us through a recipe, but this month it's my take on Melissa's Spicy Green Jamaican Soup recipe.

And on beyond that, Melissa will be here sharing lots of insight about the implications of our food choices and our self esteem, and lots of great information on nutrition and health too.

Melissa's just launched a Redefine Sexy campaign, highlighting her new recipe book, so I know she'll be eager to answer any questions you may have.

Here are some of the places online you can follow Melissa's work:

on the web at sexy food therapy . com
Her Remodel Sexy program can be found at sexy food therapy . com / remodel-sexy
Facebook: facebook . com / sexyfoodtherapy
Twitter: twitter . com / sexyfoodtherapy

You can also sign up for her weekly newsletter, Red Couch Confessions, here. It looks like a pretty neat setup, Melissa answers a question per week in a short'n'sexy four minute video! You can submit your questions, too.

I'll repeat that at the end if you'd like to see what's up before doing extra research

On top of that, we'll have our usual two $25 EF gift cards to give away---this time they will be one to the winner of the "name the lesser-known-kitchen-i mplement" game, and another to a randomly selected question for Melissa. So any time you have a question for Melissa, put an asterisk (*) at the top of you post so I can find'em and count'em up easily. Let's get going!

Hi, Melissa! I'll definitely be following your twitter from now on!

Melissa has a neat video up (one of many!) on her youtube channel featuring a Spicy Green Jamaican Soup. As soon as I watched it as we were deciding what would be a good menu for March, I thought the flavor combinations and the vibrant green healthiness of it looked so amazing I had to make it that very night.

I did make a few modifications---I don't have a fancy blender, so instead of a smooth blended soup I have a rather chunky one. And also, because it was dinner time for me, and I needed some carbohydrates, I served mine with rice. As a lunch dish I think Melissa's soup incarnation looks prefect as is, though!

Melissa, do you want to share some thoughts about this recipe?

Hey there, the quality of peppers in salsa stimulates blood circulation and in Chinese Medicine when energy is stuck we will feel emotionally or physically stuck in life. So a little hot kick will help move that Qi (a.k.a. vital energy along). I LOVE chill flakes in my chocolate - have you tried it?

I have an incredible recipe in my new Remodel Sexy cookbook that's a spicy chocolate brittle. So amazing! I've added in 4 cooking tutorials to get people extra excited as well!
