I really like spinach pasta, which is weird because I hate spinach. But Butoni sells those fresh pasta you can get, and they have a 3 cheese spinach tortellini, with alfredo sauce it is heavenly

I went ahead and decided to set the goal for this month. Outdoor activity! Plain and simple. As pools open up for the season, walking and bike paths are clear of snow, rain, and mud, parks dry out, beaches warm, and snow melts in the mountain ranges, there are so many things you can do outside!

As a family, one thing we do is walk to our local library. It’s less than half a mile up the street and we just don’t see any point in wasting days like this.

Not to mention, most of the public pools in our area feature a child’s wading area. Getting out there and walking through the water several times can provide a good workout for the parents with the water resistance, while the kids swim back and forth around the slides, and through the sprinklers! You can also walk or bike trails as a family!

Yeah, I find ravioli to be a lot of work - I've seen a little roller and press kit at my local Italian bakery that looks like it would make it a lot easier. The roller definitely helps and it doesn't take much longer than making boxed pasta, because it needs so much less time cooking...

Outdoor activities works for me, I still have 10 cords of wood to cut and a bunch of trail work for us to do.

Glad you could join us tonight! Right now we're discussing our goal for next month. BBW has gone ahead and set it as outdoor activity, so go ahead and get outside and be more active! You can also help us decide on the name of our new page on SparkPeople

There are all kinds of fun things you can do with your friends such as white water rafting, hiking, rock climbing, pick-up games of soccer or basketball. Hitting the beach and having games and a BBQ is also a great way to not only incorporate some activity, but some healthy food options! Gathering all your friends and your dogs and heading to a local dog park can be a great way to spend time with your furry and human friends at the same time too.

We don't have a pool in town, so we go to the city lake. It is real shallow and gets real warm, plus it is only $5 for a year park pass.

NICE! I wish our public pool pass for the year was a little cheaper. Ours is $200/year. Which, honestly, isn't that expensive (less than $4/week for the whole family) but up front it's pricey. It's an indoor pool, so we CAN use it year round

Sorry I disappeared. Being sick makes it hard to stay focused on something. I took meds and kinda zoned out for a while.

But I looooove the "Health Freaks and Toy Geeks" thing.

You make me promises, and then you don't fulfill them. I'm left.... lusting... or something

our indoor pool is like that as well, we are considering getting a membership before labor day, so we can keep swimming when the weather turns.

All of the things you can do with your friend, you can do by yourself as well. It’s a great way to meet people and can be really fun! Something I like to do solo is swim. It’s so peaceful under the water. I am in my own head and I feel it really gives me time to think as well as exercise. You can also pick up waterproof MP3 players (for a bit of a cost) if you have to have music while you exercise. Another great program (one that I’m thinking about implementing for myself) is the Couch to 5K program (C25K). It takes anyone from a couch potato to running a 5K. You can lengthen out the work outs to fit your fitness level as well! Not to mention, joining a team or league is a great way for you to meet new people and get some exercise!

It is. Another nice thing is it has a nice sandy bottom, you can see 75% of the bottom from satellite pic's. I can walk about half way across and it only comes up to my chest.
