I can see a small incentive being good here but we need to get away from writing just to get the gift card. Writing and showing up to the meeting actually on the night in question or later adding your $.02 would be what I want to reward.

But I think encouraging people to participate in the story threads and.commenting on works in progress would be good.
That is a novellas but the stories here could be more than some of them are. I agree that the prize should be given for more reasons than just a quick short story. I also wish to be able to put out work that may not be done but get some help with it from others here or on a blog spot.

SpokenPandora and I talked aboit a collaboration after that one discussion where we kinda eent back and forth writing a sentnce apiece, but nothing ever came of it. And that continuing thread story was fun even if everyone ignored the rules pretty uickly.

Heck we could ask people who write amazing reviews to be sort of guest writers...possibly get them to explain the origins of certain terms like buzzy, surface, girthy etc. That could be an amazing help to review writers.

Yeah...that went...um just a wee bit too far. If we can't contribute something to the story other than rape and bestiality (implied), we don't need to be doing it at all.

dicken's stories were serials. So was the Dark Tower.

My logic is that some people, like myself, enjoy the benefits of posting something, the likes, the votes, the added followers, the comments, etc etc. stories that are 50k words, plus, mean that for all that effort, they receive very little in the way of those rewards especially if the story is so long it's intimidating for most readers. splitting them into segments will provide the aforementioned benefits, keep the stories from being so long they're intimidating and the motivation will hopefully keep people writing. at least in theory.

The problem is that if the segments are TOO short some less scrupulous people might post segments simply for the sake of rewards, which is why i suggested a word minimum.

Finally, serial stories might hold the reader's interest more because they're ongoing and those on the forum might be able to impact the plot by making suggestions.

I know at first I was lost, and sometimes still am LOL, without help knowing what some of the terms here ment. The new people here would love that kind of help I am sure. We have a lot of new reviews coming in and this would open the lit club up so much.

That could work....can I email you with some ideas on how we can make that work? The premise sounds amazing and we could offer some pretty great prizes if we get creative. For most writers recognition is the best prize out there.

It's ok. There's just a really fine line here and everything we write on these pages can be tagged as keywords and soooo we don't want Eden coming up in a bestiality search. No hard feelings and all that. But, there are boundaries, as with anything in life.

What if I were to contact someone who writes great reviews and ask them to explain how they start their reviews? Maybe lead into a writer's block discussion?

Same here. Though I do like just being able to talk about my writing which in itself for me is a huge reward. This club has really been a reward in itself for me and my muse.

That is the sort of thing I am thinking of making into a game....two people are prompted to begin writing but challenged to avoid some common words. If they mess up or miss the prompt to change the words someone can hijack the story...the winner of the meeting are the two writers who are still going at the end of the meeting. Something like that.

We'd definitely need to be sure we used common sense. it's lazy writing to always turn a sexy story into a rape fantasy (or bestiality). The one Cedar is talking about was really cool though because it was just on the edge of completely naughty and during the meeting LOL.

We had a lot of success with serial stories. Woman China, myself and Cedar loved doing them but the group kinda drifted away from reading them after a while. Reviving that aspect would be amazing to me.

Sweet then we'll talk. We have to make sure we get the ok from Stormy and the other powers that be but we ARE the writing club for the whole darn site. We aren't an erotica club and we should be offering help for all of the writing done on the site...at least I think so.
What say you, Stormy?
