Sounds good to me! So just make it an open topic and poetry Month? I have an eager club member waiting to actually do a small lecture about writing haiku. That's also something we can do...get people to talk about their own writing styles during the meetings.

a possible topic could be family vacations. between fiction and exaggerated nonfiction there's plenty of material, either for humor or serious drama.

A poetry open would be cool. It would be neat to feature a poetic form, too, now and then. Like doing haiku or a sonnet, or something. It's good to know the old rules and forms for when you break them.

Promotion for events is something that has to be set up well in advance. We have a backlog of projects that take precedence.

Exactly.

Everyone who is anyone has written poetry, even silly little roses are red variations that are cute and funny. So anyone who has ever expressed an interest in publishing something in this section of the Forum, that would be one fun and very simple way to post something and participate.

It would be something we would have to plan for around Christmas if we start now! But we can do things on a smaller scale certainly. All the banners and stuff have an approval process to go through....BUT we can plan whatever we want through our club forum with just Stormy's approval.

Well hells bells we need a new project. We had such a let down after the book project was finished and sent in.

So we can plan a Poetry Open
A longer story writing competition
A short story competition
Some non-fiction types of writings

All of these would take some planning but sound amazing as a next minor project.

Oh hell yes, I have a problem with the Monday night time frame for meetings. I have been diagnosed with stage 1 hypertension and my family thinks it's a point of pride that they all have heart attacks before age 50. I would like to not do this! I usually go River Walking with Mistress Dragon and Izzaba on Mondays at 7pm.

I would love to reschedule the meetings for either earlier in the day....by even two hours earlier would be amazing. Or even on another day.
I would like to start a poll to get some ideas about what time would be the best for the most people.

Soon as it is all printed and stuff It'll be offered as a promotional like the calendar so I was told....either way all the authors will get a copy for free

I am glad Airen Wolf Izzaba and I are doing the River Walking and our health is getting so much better since we started. I hope this will not be a problem for anyone. Thank you for asking Airen Wolf.

LOL not really it's just that we have projects going ALL year round so it's a sort of jostling around affair. It sounds chaotic but it really isn't. The team work all the time to better the site and the community. Right now we're running some IMMENSE projects that are eating up time.

We're in a major spurt of growth right now and things will calm down soon enough. We have a lot of projects we're working on and to slide things in at the last minute isn't fair to anyone.

Ummm... I think I might be the only person on this side of the planet so please. Do not take me into account if everyone else would like earlier meetings.

I am usually up at about 430am, I just need to find a way to be reminded when I wake up that we have a meeting!

But I would need to know as soon as possible so I can arrange my work schedule for September (if they'll let me that is!!!)

Sounds good and the time frame is good to get working something new or tweek something old it get it sounding better.

All I really need to do is slide the meeting an hour or two earlier. I'll be here after river walking doing the meeting recap anyhow so if you stop by I'll respond on the forum There's no reason the meeting HAS to stop!

Ok so I will get us a good old fashioned meeting recap done and posted probably by early tomorrow. Don't forget to check back because I'm also gonna list the suggestions and invite some discussion.
I'll make the topics:
Poetry (whatever you want to write...surprise us)
Vacation stories (Fiction/Non-fiction)
Open Topic (whatever strikes your writing fancy)

I'll also post a voting poll for time frame for the Eden Lit club. SO be sure to weigh in on when it would be best for you to attend.

I handed over my pasport beginning of June, signed new contracts mid-June, have to wait for the lazy man in the FAO office to have gotten off his ass and do his job. We are still waiting for the Experts Bureau to give me my Experts Certificate which is the hold up (well that or the FAO official still hasn't submitted- he hates foreigners so it really could be that) then another week at the police station to get my new visa.

To be honest, I am a worry wort. And will all that is going on in China at the moment... I am kind of afraid that they are looking to meet a quota of foreigners to deport. And me being me, I worry, so I am wickedly afraid I am going to get deported. I don't know why I would, but this is just the fear of waiting such a long time to get the paperwork done.

In 2008, millions of foreigners were sent home because they changed jobs or something else minorly silly, but the government waited till the day my visa expired to say anything. So I am freakishly paranoid and freaking out about it.
