I need your opinions

Another point of view:

I would rather see badges for club managers instead of a border, like in the corner of their picture (which I hope the pictures will be a bit bigger). I think that borders should remain for the people who were hired by EF to perform a business-related function. I think that there are a LOT of borders in the forum right now. (Yes, I realize that some of the club managers would get borders anyway since many of us DO work for EF in some capacity)

Earned badges for COTM, Rumbles, etc... I think these would be much better utilized on the profile rather than in the forums. Same with 100 club, 200 club. I think that's really cool!

Gifts are an interesting idea, but I think it would be overused by people who like to spam other people. (Akin to the "following" wall post... they're trying to be friendly without making any real effort). In terms of gifts, I have a bit of a question, if someone has a public wishlist, can I send it to them? Can I gift it to them? If not, I'd like to see that be a possibility INSTEAD of virtual gifts.

I think it would be great if we had more emoticons, potentially even animated ones would be nice. That's all I can think of right now. less

Me neither on the "last logged on" option.

I really, really hate when websites do this. I don't want others to know when I log in for a brief moment. It somehow feels like an invasion of privacy, though I know I'm not the majority opinion on this. less

I really don't want animated emoticons. The static ones are great, however, and I'd like to have more expressions/images available.

I like the idea of sending someone a gift that's not on their wishlist. I know I don't update my wishlist every day, and I'm also supportive of expanding horizons (or sending self-fellating squirrels as the case may be). less

I'm with Kindred on not informing everyone when we're online. It's too big sisterly. People can already see what I like to stick up my vagina. They don't need to see when I'm logged onto Eden. Also I usually keep my laptop running with a bunch of windows open even when I'm not at it. Someone might send me a message and think I'm being rude because I'm not responding when the truth is I'm not really there.

I also like BBW's idea about borders being reserved for staff members only. I think if we add any more colored borders to represent something it will be too much. I'm glad there isn't a different color border to represent each club. I don't think badges are necessary. I can find the number of reviews someone has written easily on my own, but they could be fun. Like Kayla said, they'd be like gamer achievements. Viewing it that way makes it more appealing to me. Knowing how many people have read your review or visited your review would be nice.

And I am SO with Selective Sensualist on the emoticons. They'd be much more fun and useful than virtual gifts (i.e. lobsters).
I'd like it if we could have moods to choose from or write in along with corresponding smileys on our profile page. Maybe that could also be displayed under our (hopefully) bigger pictures.

Now I'm just going to throw this out here--are chat rooms for clubs possible? This has probably been addressed somewhere else. I just think it would be much easier and useful. Hmm, but then I guess there wouldn't be a recorded meeting for us to go back and reread if we were late or couldn't make it altogether. Okay, maybe the chat rooms aren't a good idea. less

I definitely like the idea of badges, especially for when you hit a certain number of reviews, if you're the head of a club, or a contributor of the month type things.

I also don't like the idea of virtual gift items. I would be worried that I could upset someone by not having the extra time online to care enough to send any. "Why didn't you send me anything, DJ?" Gah! Because it's a silly virtual gift and I have other things to do and you should know I like you without it?

Aaaand I'm with Bunnycups. Yall already know way too much about my sex life, urges, and masturbation practices for me to want you to be able to virtually stalk me. Seriously. (But I do love yall.)

And no more borders around avatars than necessary. I thought it was super sweet enough that club managers got a border to begin with. But with we add them for everything then it'd be pretty overwhelming.

I would say not even a registry, but just the option to send gag gifts. There could be a place in the checkout where it can give you the option to "Ship to Contributor" and you just have to input their name.

I could see this as potentially being offensive to some people, I'd like to see a rule/limitation: "Contributors must follow each other in order to send a gift"

I have probably 75 people who follow me that I don't follow... let alone people that I follow who haven't followed me yet. I wouldn't want someone I didn't know sending me a masturbating monkey or a penis ice cube tray, it wouldn't be funny. But Tim sending me the Pecker Glasses to wear to the next party would be HILARIOUS! Yanno? less

With regard to notifying people when you're online, almost every website that does that has a way to shut it off. So maybe we could add it, and add a way to turn it off?

The badges sound like an awesome idea.

Something I'd like to see, though, is a "karma system", for lack of a better description, for forum posts. Right now, we can favorite contributors, and flag posts as offensive but we can't "like" the posts we find really informative, or interesting, or whatever. I think that would be an awesome addition. less

I essentially feel the same way with the ones on FB. Personal and EF ones... I've blocked almost every app someone has sent me something from. It's just like you said... NOT PERSONAL, I just have other things to do, and I think they're kinda silly/pointless...

I think with personal gifts, most of us do a really good job with this with pictures and gifs we snatch off the web!

Ok, so no one has posted yet I will share a few items that I noted to hopefully get the idea ball rolling

Club Badges: I think it would be cool if each club had a badge, and by subscribing to club alerts or maybe just for participating, you would have a badge for that club on your profile.

Earned Badges: These would be badges your profile would wear for completing certain tasks, such as Student / Mentor badge for the mentor program, Description Reviewer Badge, Proofreader Badge, Milestone badges for completing 100, 200, etc... reviews, COTM badge, Rumble winner badges... you get the idea.

These are all just ideas at this point. Mainly I want to see what all of you think would be cool to add, so please take a few minutes and share your thoughts.

...also... what do you think about electronic gifts? Being able to share a friendly gesture or sentiment by giving a little gift icon to a friend or community member. Ideas here? less
