Always wondered about this as well. Curious to hear if anyone has personally experienced this.

I think that it would just be a hassle to try and shit out a toy. I haven't heard of this happening, but I would just be careful and make sure that toys without a flared base don't go too far in without you holding onto it.

I have heard about this a couple times, but always from someone who works at the hospital, not from someone who had the unfortunate incident occur.

I have had two plugs do this, one I felt it as it happened and caught it just in time. The other one I had a retrieval cord so I was able to pull it out.

Can the ass suck something in? Yes, it can. That's how most of the hands free P-spot massagers, like the Aneros, work. With them you push it out and then clinch the sphincters, same as doing Kegels and this pulls it back in.

The problem happens when the last end to go in is blunt or does not have a taper to it. The rectum opens up inside the sphincters, so if the object turns or moves to one side it can become lodged in there. Yes it may come out during the next BM or you may be able to fish it out...as long as it stays in the rectum. If it goes in further and enters the Sigmoid colon then it may never come out on its own. If nothing else it can cause damage to the rectum as the linings are delicate. You only want smooth round shapes in there.

I had a friend who did the same thing, with a shampoo bottle. Had to get it removed at the ER. Then I later found out it happened a few more times! You would think once would be enough!!!

I was watching a behind the scenes video where a porn star (I can't remember who she was for the life of me) was engaging in some figging and the plug got sucked right up. It was captured on video, along with the antics of the costars trying to help her retrieve it, hah. She went to the ER and the doctors told her that because it was a vegetable, the body would just sort of digest it and that she shouldn't worry about. And apparently that's what happened, she never saw it again.

I know of several paramedics that have assisted or taken mostly women, but some men to the hospital for extraction of various objects. I have heard of cucumbers, zucchini, kitchen tools, plastic items (actual toys)(lil balls with the spikes or strands on them) and writing implements. I have never done anything like this. But, whatever goes in maybe a string would assist in removal. Regardless. It would be pretty embarrassing. Although, I could see some people waiting till they move their bowels and hoping everything comes out ok. Lot of pain. I am certain and a blocked bowel is not a good thing.

Let's just say that a Toothpaste pump, when used as a sex toy, same as a CAN of deodorant, can go IN and yet NOT come out...forms a suction with the intestinal wall.

No...it did NOT happen to me. YES, it is 100% fact.

Don't even get me started on the silly girl who claimed she got out of the shower and SAT on the 100 watt light bulb that had to be CAREFULLY extracted from her rectum (where it had stayed for two days before built up gas behind it caused SO much pain and still failed to push it out, that she HAD to come to the ER).

A female doctor actually told her "honey, how you choose to play is your business, but they make relatively SAFE toys for this kind of thing. A light-bulb is NOT one of them".

The young fellow who had to have a pocket umbrella removed in the O.R. is another, as the surgeons were VERY concerned could pop open during extraction, and cause a massive intestinal tear and peritonitis (and death).

NO, dear Aliceinthehole it is not a rumor and it is NOT "silly" either. Safe toys are overall relatively safe...compared to shoving things in that often WILL NOT come out. Sitting in an E.R. or O.R., with one's life at risk is certainly no joke.

I got some new anal beads the powerballs. And i put them in no problem but there is no stopper on the end and i had to grab them quickly before the string went inside.

OW!!!! Figging is seriously painful. Ginger root burns, the idea is just to take you to your edge of pain tolerance and then go a little further and then STOP and remove the ginger. With the cord or string attached to it before it was inserted.

Also, the colon, or large intestine does NOT "digest" food. It's main function is removing fluid from stool. The stomach and the small intestine do most of the digestion.

I would Not agree with this doctors recommendation, as the ginger root could have become drier and drier and caused an intestinal blockage. I'm willing to bet she "saw it again" but it was one hell of a poop! Bleh. I would have insisted on it being removed. But, one of the main points of figging is to make sure the root is securely fastened with string or something to pull it out.

The reason the rectum and anus "suck" stuff in: think about pooping. Sometimes you have to go, but aren't able to get to the toilet. Your body has a mechanism which then pushes or "sucks" the stool back higher into the intestine, higher than the rectum, to prevent pain and accidents. Also, the anus "relaxes" by closing and anything still in there may (or may not) be pulled a little higher into the intestine.

The larger the item, the less likely it is to be pulled in. An eight inch dildo is highly unlikely to be pulled all the way in, a small ball or plug without proper length to hang onto or flared base can be pulled in.

I had a near miss with the Plug of Lust Small. We had been using it safely for months. One night, we were playing with it, and it felt... weird. My Man had been pushing it and hadn't realized that the flared base had folded over, as I must have been fairly relaxed, and it started to go all the way in! I grabbed at it, and felt the little ring and I also was able to grab the jewelry chain I had attached to the ring in case of an emergency. My Man (who was right there) didn't even realize what had happened until after it was over. We retired it there and then. I think I simply outgrew it and have learned to relax more than when we first got the toy.

But, some people have more reactive rectums than others. As I said, the larger and longer the item, the less likely it is to get "stuck." Some people have virtually no backwards "pull" to their intestines at all, some have very reactive rectums. Other people it may just vary with how they are feeling, what else may be higher up in the colon etc.

Some people play with very unsafe "toys" and never have a problem, others have ended up in the ER more than few times.

I knew an ER doc who had not just an "Ass Box" but a Shadow Box of things he had removed from people's lower colons. Weird. Some people wanted the stuff back....

While it has never happened to me or anyone I know, it does happen. I would take the majority vote with a grain of salt on this one! It would seem as though "we" are smarter than your average bear on this topic! (Partly because we all read about the dangers of things going up.)

Don't stick something up the "down pipe" just to see if it's true! But, if you do...please provide the x-rays from when you visit the "extraction specialists".

When using any anal toy that has not got a flared base it is always a good idea to have some kind of string to pull it out. The retrieval cord is considerd an essential.

However be wary of toys that have a flimsy base, as these can get sucked up then the base opens up inside making it difficult for you to get out. So with small toys this is not really an issue when you start playing with the larger toys, this could get problematic....

And as some of the anecdotes here indicate, you better either hope your partner has small hands or its off to the ER...

If it's a safe, rounded toy then it will usually work its way out naturally, but if it has sharp edges or ridges (or is stiff in some circumstances) then it can get dangerous. There's no "permanent suction" in the colon, as the walls can completely collapse together, so the only thing that can "suck" it in are muscular contractions, usually of the anus.

Short answer: flared is super safe, don't get into the other stuff unless you know about your body and how it reacts AND you KNOW the toy will be safe even if it does slide all the way inside.

My ass repells toys - not sucks them up which I why I don't have any issues using toys that don't have flared bases.
But I always put it in my reviews as a warning cause everyone is different.
