I have had it happen once or twice, but not really enough to consider "occasionally." That said, usually oral is before intercourse for both of us, so for me it is more of trying not to climax from it. Can be difficult to delay orgasm during sex if oral session was intense. Wife usually wants me to stop before she climaxes from oral.

My boyfriend has issue with getting off during oral as does one of my male friends. I would say that it isn't abnormal to encounter someone who doesn't/can't get off from it. Each and every person is different and perhaps the stimulation received from oral isn't the right kind of stimulation that is needed.

I've had this issue at the beginning of all but one of my serious relationships. I think it comes from tension, and maybe insecurity about the new partner and how they perceive me. But after that initial period of awkwardness, which for me usually lasted a few days to a couple of weeks, I've always learned to relax and enjoy oral, and to climax (fairly) quickly from it.
