I think a home-cooked meal is super sexy. Even if it's not the best food, it's cute to see they tried. I have a friend who will practice a dish for days before he makes it for someone he just started dating or on special occasions.

Cuisine doesn't really influence much for me. As long as it tastes good.

I would love to go to a sushi or a seafood place but my fiancee hates seafood... the other option would have been italian but i think a homecooked meal made by both people together is more romantic than any restaurant.

Sorry, I couldn't quite figure out what foods are really romantic or sexual to me. I love food, but they don't really matter much to me as far as the romance + food goes.

I'm weird though. My favorite restaurants are not the expensive ones. I like a buffet or one of my favorites is the China Moon (I LOVE eggrolls, Chinese Donuts, etc.) We went there last Valentine's day. Not the most fancy place, but I find that I don't really love the foods at those fancy restaraunts. But I almost always prefer a buffet like China Moon or or a Southern style buffet (can't help it, I'm from the South.)

I do like Carabbas though, which is Italian. I don't love it, but love their fried zucchini -- that's probably partly because of my being Southern too. Lol.

And Mexican is a huge favorite of mine.

I agree, it's the effort & love someone puts into it that speaks to me.

I had just started dating a guy in college when he surprised me with an Italian dinner in his dorm room. He tried so hard to make it romantic and he was so sweet about it. His 3 roommates helped him because he was so nervous about making a good impression. The food was okay and of course, I ate it all with a smile, but the effort & thought he put into it blew me away. We had a wonderful date & then I jumped him

Sushi, seafood, or Italian. My partner and I have gone on many sushi dates and its super romantic to share plates. I'm Italian though so a nice romantic meal at an Italian place will sweep me off my feet

A home cooked meal is always the most meaningful and special kind, but I wouldn't do it for a first date though. Italian or a steakhouse would be better for that.

I am a sucker for sushi with shashimi, a nice light (winter) sake, and some crystalized ginger.

Fruit such as black plums, honeydew, and cantalope served with warm honey and yogart is a beautiful dish to serve before a romantic evening.

never thought about it. it's likely that i would avoid anything heavy myself; cheese, pasta, greasy burgers, steak... i would not want to be all bogged down afterwards. fruits are great.
