I don't think so. My nipples will randomly get hard on their own...cold, hot, happy, sad...doesn't matter. Plus, my nipples aren't overly sensitive to much so it's not like simulating them does anything for them.

nope. For many people nipples are a sensitive area, and will get hard upon arousal, however depending on the person/their sensitivity erect nipples could be caused by a number of things: cold weather, sneezing, a light touch/contact, ect. It's not necessarily the best indicator that someone is or isnt aroused.

Not really.
I feel like mine can turn hard when nothing's happening. I feel like I get wet pretty often, too, when I feel nothing. I feel like wetness, nipple, etc. aren't good indicators of if I'm having a good time or not

It's almost always either temperature or tactile stimulation with me. Usually when they're being touched, I AM turned on, but it's not an indicator, haha.
Though, after I have sex in which they have been stimulated, they tend to be wayyy more sensitive and get harder more easily- like rubbing against the inside of a bra can get them up and at attention.

Mine are mostly a thermostat. They will let you know when I'm cold, and that's about it. I've had partners get sad at the fact that my nipples are down, even when they have their hand touching a much better indicator of my arousal, dripping wet and with no extra lube. It confounds me why people would think erect nipples = arousal! soft nipples = not interested! when it comes to me.

I used to think the same thing, but my ex pointed out that my nipples get hard when I'm aroused (I actually hadn't noticed). But it can also just mean you're cold.
