Using an STP during your period?

Contributor: fizzygato fizzygato
So, I was considering turning one of my packers into an STP.

I was wondering, though, what do you do when you're on your period?

I've mostly heard that urine is mostly sterile, so I would imagine it wouldn't collect bacteria in an STP much, esp. if it were cleaned well, etc. I've heard lots of stuff is carried in blood, though and my period blood is often quite solid/thick and looks what I feel like I see in alien movies.. idk. I worried it might not even flow out of the STP well

I was wondering if any of you all had advice/ personal experience with trying to use an STP during your period or if you'll just say "don't do it," etc

I personally would not do it on my period. I'd be too worried about staining it.

This is certainly an issue I never thought about. For me, I didn't start packing/using an STP until periods were no longer an issue. I'll be interested to see the answers on this one.

What about just staying clean in general when using an STP? That's one of my main concerns is just not feeling clean after using one. I mean yeah you can shower and wash at the end of the day but what about during the day?

I'm not sure.

I guess just resolving that your parts in general have bacteria and probable urine/ possibly other things residue, anyway?

That is something I think about, though, and for that reason consider primarily using an STP in a single-user restroom or at home, where it's possible to wash it after use.

I think one of my bigger concerns is getting it to rest well in your pants, if it's not one of those fancy cup-looking ones like Pee-cock has. I'm like, "Ow," thinking about a hard plastic medicine spoon resting against you. But at the same time I'm like, "Wouldn't a soft plastic be harder to control, i.e. require more precise grip?"

I hope I'm not out of line, because I'm not someone who would ever use a STP, but I'm thinking you may be able to avoid some of the issues you're talking about if you use a menstrual cup to deal with your period. It should help keep any of the period blood out of the way of your STP all together.

When I still had a bleeding cycle I would stop packing or using an STP during that time. I just didn't want to be anywhere near that area.

I don't use an STP on my period but I do pack. I just pack over another layer of underwear, and I don't have to worry about it getting stained/bacteria/etc.

If anyone ever saw a guy standing to pee and blood was coming out I'm pretty sure they'd tell you to see a doctor.. or if there was some blood left in the urinal.. it could out you pretty easily IMO

I second using a menstrual cup, but if you don't want to do that I'd stick to the single stalls with a sink or take a seat.

before i stopped having periods i used a menstrual cup and never had any leakage while using it. while i didn't use an stp at the time, if i had owned one i wouldn't have hesitated to use it while menstruating.
