I think the more hands the better, that way even if we do it monthly maybe someone can go in once a week or so and upload whatever is there, that way it's not left for someone to do all at once. And then we can all take turns being the one to actually make up the post. "What's gonna work? Teamwork!" Sorry my kids had on their Wonder Pets capes tonight LOL

I'm thinking the same thing. There might have to eventually be a limit to how many each submitter can email...like say 3 or something. But to start....go crazy.

Something to work towards then?

Gary mentioned earlier that if the nominations are open to the entire community, and then voted on by all, things will get way out of hand and the organization would become unmanageable. If the CEC does the nominations, and then it's opened up to the community for a vote, favoritism really shouldn't be a problem because you can only vote once. So even if you vote for your personal favorite contributor,it's just one vote - the entire community being able to vote significantly diminishes the odds of one person winning because of favoritism.

Yep, especially before people really get the hang of it and see what the submissions are like they might not really be inspired to send in any.

Lol, nice. I think it's a good idea to have someone go in once a week and upload whatever's there.

I was going to suggest the opposite...do it bi-weekly and if it's not too overwhelming for one person to handle, then make it monthly. Kind of a better safe than sorry theory?

We could even have a contest for the most creative one or something to inspire interest if it doesn't take off.

Unless someone can come up with something more creative, that sounds pretty good to me.

From experience, the longer you wait if there are a lot of submissions the worse the work load is.

I think that might be good, especially if there are many people helping out..it shouldn't get overwhelming...also being bi-weekly it might draw more interest..seeing it more often.

I don't want to belabor the issue, but that is a conflict because nominations are done by a "select" group, the CEC. Not everyone may understand that anyone can be part of the CEC, in which case why even say that the CEC is nominating? Just say the community nominates and votes the winner. If there is a requirement to write say a 200 word reason why, that will control how many submissions there are and limit to those that people truly believe in.

My only concern would be coming up with the prize, but I would be willing to donate towards something if it perked things up a bit.

It could be non-monetary...like the winner gets a "fan mail" from 3 committee members or something.

Do you think that people would be happy with say 100 points, and their avatar posted on the community page?

That's a much more economic idea, lol. I can get behind that.

Are you talking about member of the month or the fan mail thing?

Might be easier to remember for submitters than EFfansubmissions, but I'm cool with either

True.

I had to step away for a min, so I'm not sure if anyone has said this, but what about the possibility of limmiting how many noms a person can do. I.E. Limit it to like one nomination a week (4 in a month) idk what do you think?
