They really should have at least given them more episodes to end the season. The character development was so rushed it felt like the season needed a breather episode or two to digest everything. The ending though is one of the best show endings out there, with one of the show's best lines. Also, i love (spoilers) that the dad was the mayor the whole time. Dead end job? he could have run for congress, state senate, governor, all kinds of things!
