Are you Shy?

Contributor: remember.me remember.me
I said other, because I'm not shy online AT ALL, but I'm REALLY shy in person until I know someone and even then I'm still rather shy.

Totally depends on the situation for me. I like noise and seem to be more open if there are more people around, noise, etc. At work where it is usually quite, very shy, hate it!

I consider myself to be very shy.

I do not like people very much, and it takes me forever to consider someone a friend (we are talking years here). I appear to be outgoing and very much the extrovert when I have too (through work and lectures and such).

No one considers me an introvert or shy person, but I consider shy to be how much of yourself do you share with others. I don't share very much of myself with people. I share many things, but keep the personal stuff personal.

As for how I define introvert and extrovert... an introvert is someone who needs to be alone to recharge their personal battery and an extrovert is someone who needs to be around people to recharge their batteries.

Not really, I suppose it would depend on the situation.

I vary between somewhat shy and painfully shy. Lately with work I feel like I'm regressing to the point of not wanting to go at all. In fact that's what happened today. Anxiety leads to panic attacks and then I can't function.

I'm the same way. Being forced into situations that are socially intense for me do nothing but hurt, not help.

I have crippling social phobias that are a huge strain on my life that make it almost impossible for me to find a job, make any friends, or speak up in class. So yeah, I'd say I'm pretty shy. When I get close to people, I do open up to them and I feel safe around them, but I'm always in a constant state of being overly self-conscious.
