Collaring (and/or Engagement) Story-times :)

Hey all!

A couple days ago Synthetik collared me Now, he and I have been engaged for two years (our Anniversary coinciding with the Winter Solstice), but he finally was able to get me a locking steel collar recently and it just got in a few days ago.

So, excited about it, I decided to write all about it, however, I got to thinking. Wouldn't it be nice to make a thread where we all swapped stories about how we were Collared and/or Engaged? Or, how you Collared and/or Proposed to your significant other?

So, the Poll's question is:

Was your Collaring/Engagement Proposal formal, casual, balanced, or otherwise? And how did you feel about it?

Also, in the posts, tell us your Collaring/Engagement Stories Text Walls are welcome (as are the opposite, of course, write as much or as little as you'd like on the subject ). I'd very much like to read everyone's stories.

It was originally just going to be a Collaring Storytime thread, but, seeing as not everyone is into BDSM, or, like me, and are both Engaged *and* Collared to their significant other, I decided to make it something that more people could be involved in

(Note: I didn't really know where to put this, so it can be moved if the Admins would prefer it elsewhere. But, since it, for me, dealt mainly with things that would generally be approached within a Long Term Relationship, I just put it here in this section)

It was balanced. Not too much formality, but not too casual....
It was formal / traditional....
IT WAS OVER THE TOP!!!! We literally got flying, robot unicorns that breathed fiery rainbows to fly off into the sunset together.... Not even kidding....
.....and I wish that it was just a bit more formal / traditional.
.....and I think that it was perfect. Couldn't be happier about it :)

.....and I wish that it could have been just a tad more casual / non-traditional.
.....and I wish that it was more balanced / in the middle.
.....AND IT WAS EXTREMEEEEE!!!!! The flying, fiery-rainbow breathing, robot unicorns were just the tip of this odd iceberg.....

I had just gotten off work this past Wednesday and had been expecting the package from Ring of Steel to come in all day, literally stalking the USPS Track and Confirm page via my phone on my breaks. So I rushed home and as soon as I saw it, I tore open the shipping box and it was neatly wrapped in wrapping paper.

I was excited and wanting to see it, but I didn't want to open it without Synthetik there (and was too excited to wait until I saw him yesterday [Friday]), so I actually drove to his work and slipped the wrapped 1/4 inch Stealth Collar in my purse. At his counter, we opened it together, with the collar hidden from other people's view with my handbag. We also got the matching Key Pendant that I put on the order for him to have, and we looked at the invoice and the little baggie with the leash rings, extra keys and screws in it. I at least wanted to see it all, even if he wanted to wait to put it on me until Friday.

But that's when he surprised me, lol

He was holding the collar and looking at it's craftsmanship when he told me to turn around. I kind of had a bit of a panicy moment and I blurted out, "But honey, what if someone sees?! What if they *know*?". And pretty much he's the type in that scenario thinks: I worry too much and 1) That no one will know what it is, and/or 2) Who cares what *they* think anyway, whether they know what it actually is or not.

So, I turned around and held my hair out of the way and he collared me from across his work counter, on a busy Wednesday night at the Arcade that he works at (it was busy enough that he didn't have time to take a smoke break, or else we would have opened it while he took one)

Even if it didn't have alot of pomp and ceremony to it that most collaring stories have, I couldn't care less, to me, it was just as special. For all I cared, while he was putting the collar on me, he and I were the only two people in the world.

Though, thinking about it, I guess he and I aren't really the traditional type when it comes to certain things, not that there's anything wrong with those who are. When he asked me to marry him, he didn't ask me on bended knee, he asked me right before we made love, lol. Alot of people may wince at how he proposed, and collared me, but the way I see it, it's special to me and him, so that's all that matters

My hubby & I got engaged Christmas day of 2007. That morning we each spent time with our families seperately and in the afternoon he drove the hour & a half to get to my house so we could open our presents to each other. He got to my house and we opened our presents to each other. He then convinced me that he had to take a friend of his a Christmas present so we headed to his friends apartment. During the 30 min drive I could tell Steven was acting a little tense and I kept asking if he was okay. Well we ended up driving right by his friend's apt and I asked why and he said well I want to walk around the bridge. (The bridge is where we spent a lot of our dates. It's a huge Suspension bridge that has beatiful lights on it) He grabbed his coat and put it on and we got out of his truck and walked to the middle of the bridge. When we got to the middle of the bridge Steven got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He reached into his coat pocket and grabbed the ring box as he opened it he asked me "Will you marry me?" I couldn't say anything and I was so suprised that it took me a few seconds to respond. of course it was a yes. We hugged and kissed each other and he slipped the ring on my finger. I couldn't even look at it all I did for a few minutes was look at him and smile. There were quite a few people around and they were all watching and when we hugged and kissed everyone congratulated us. We never made it to take his friend the Christmas present that night! =) We met on 6-6-06 and married on 6-7-08!

My story is actually fairly sad. Sigel bought me a beautiful ring, called my parents and told them he was going to propose. On Valentine's Day 1989 he arrived at my house. My parents left the room, silently objecting. He got on one knee and gave me the ring, I had already said yes. My parents showed no interest and refused to discuss it. My Mom said openly it wouldn't happen (my getting married).
There was no announcement to the grandparents or other family, and no engagement party. It was just completely ignored.

Now this is NOT how my Mother's engagement was handled, or her sister's. My Grandmother had an engagement picture made and then done in oils for both her girls. So it's not like my Mom didn't know what to do....

S'ok though I still have my Sigel and that is worth not getting a celebration at the beginning.
I remember the slightly scared look in his eyes and thinking that he had never looked so beautiful! Odd huh? I remember the blinding joy when I held out my hand for him to put on the ring, and I remember that kiss. WOW it was an amazing kiss.

when he had officially proposed, we were naked in bed and i was crying. thought he only wanted to marry me to make me happy so i told him no. didnt think he was ready and that he was only doing it to please me. didnt take long to change my no into a yes. 6 months later we eloped in vegas. and now things are great. were planning on re-marring as soon as we have extra income. i really want a traditional wedding. just no white dress for me. not trying to fool anyone..."off white" is close enough
