so i text my wife today asking has she ever thought of getting a tongue ring. I don't think you went overboard by just asking if she ever thought of having a tongue ring. If you are requesting that she get one, that is overboard.
Getting a your tongue pierced involves a lot more pain than people think. You have swelling for weeks after it gets done and have to learn how to eat again. No one should ever get one just bc their spouse asks.
I have with my husband since before I got it done, and yeah...he loved it at first. Now, he enjoys the "benefits" of my tongue ring more when it's out. He's so used to it being in there that he doesn't notice it so much anymore. It's just normal when it's there.

Would you go get a big giant tattoo covering your whole back just bc she thought you'd look hot? No. Don't expect her to get her tongue pierced just bc you enjoy the thought of it.

I suppose the "benefit" would be the feeling it gives someone getting head. Other than my spouse enjoying it, I benefit from it because I love it. Like an ear piercing, I guess. I also have my industrial pierced and, for me, the tongue ring is the same benefit. I just think both piercings are beautiful and I am proud of both of them.
Like I said though, I've had my tongue pierced for about 12 years. My husband feels like it's a special treat when it's out. It doesn't benefit our sex life as much as most people think.
