#Announcement - Goodbye Everyone!!! (Gary has left the building)

...13 people have been let go from EdenFantasys in the past 2 years...

This, exactly, is the first thing that came to mind for me. It has just been one person after another, with no real explanation. For those of us who feel a connection with the community [of real people] here at Eden, it has been very hard. It feels like losing relationships with no closure. Some of the former employees have posted vague moving on messages, but I think most of us have felt we were not getting the true story. Happening with such frequency, I certainly felt it was more a company decision than that of the individuals in question. Sorry...it just feels too cold and corporate. Not what we are used to here. less

Gary, Carrie Ann, Sammi, Justin and Emma, As sad as I am for you losing your jobs I am sure this is just a sign that there are better road for you to travel. A slap in the face for sure but sometimes that just means you are putting your efforts forth for the wrong company. You will be missed greatly. Each and everyone of you are awesomesauce personified!

I am so lost, to replace the very folks that made this community what it is is beyond shocking. And then to say "to bring more fun and quality time and events to Eden Community"??? WTF was the last few years, grief and stress?

EF has lost a great staff that in my mind will not be replaced that easily. This is a sad day indeed, Eden will never be the same. less

What's going on here is 100% damage control and y'all would be wise to be skeptical. The behavior of Eden over the last two years has been the behavior of a company circling the drain, not a company ready to reinvent itself.

While I am super upset and skeptical about this whole situation (ALL contactable admins are gone? Seriously? Sans Stormy, who is back on for a very short bit), I also think that people are blowing this out of proportion.

I think that Eden probably is in a bit of trouble; they sell expensive sex toys during a recession, things are going to be tough, and aren't going to get better magically. At the same time, they give away a LOT of free stuff, which must cost them a ton.

I also think that Eden is not just doing 'damage control.' I feel like 'damage control' would be 100% stopping all assignments and points and putting everything up for 50% off sale. Firing all of the admins before the site shuts down doesn't seem like a normal course for 'damage control.'

It's also nice that they have the decency to tell us WHEN people leave, and not just leave us hanging. It's more than most sites do! While there isn't much transparency... Judging by how people took just this small bit of news, I have a feeling that much more transparency would have resulted in a mob.

I hope all of you find an awesome, new job! Maybe you can start a bakery and sell cookies shaped like kittens or something.

It's not over until it's over! Don't count Eden dead just because they may be having troubles or they do some weird staff-change things. It's far from awesome, yes, but at the same time it's also not a giant 'NO VACANCY' sign on the front page. Let's all take a deep breath and see what happens next. less

A lot of employers make it so that you can't even TALK about being fired, much less give public notice like JR did or even a vague post like this. I give up. I want my gift cards for the slide shows that I did that took me forever to figure out and my computer crashing and having to start all over. I just want to up and leave at this point. I don't understand getting rid of staff and not having adequate staff still available to take care of business. NOT a very wise business move. I hate even saying anything negative in fear that I'll be "punished". But I'm angry to say the least. less

Really? A mass PM?

I didn't know that a small, select group of "valuable contributors", messaged individually through Stormy's personal account constituted a "mass PM".

I didn't know that a glitch in the system would cause a mass PM to only get sent to the top contributors, on the first few pages or so of the community list.  To me that smacks of favoritism and special treatment.  

Since you're on those first few pages, and you quite obviously got one of those messages, you be all sunshine and rainbows ...hell, eat a bag of skittles for everyone. less
