Butt Plug vs. Anal Beads?

Contributor: foxxxriot foxxxriot
So I'm pretty new to the world of anal toys, and I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the options out there! If you have experience with this, where would you recommend starting (i.e butt plug, anal beads, other?, and is there a specific one you would recommend?... not looking for something too massive right away!).

When I first got started I used beads, but soon wanted more so I went to small plugs, then larger plugs and I have no desire to go any larger than my Ryder plug.

It's better to start with plugs. I'd recommend the njoy Pure plugs but they're out of stock right now. The Mood Naughty plugs in size medium - diameter 1" and large - diameter 1 1/4" are also good for beginners, because they're comfortable for long-term wear and will not slip out.

Beads are silly: they take a little effort to insert then supposedly provide a rush of stimulation when you pull them out. A textured dildo or plug are better options because they provide stimulation in both directions.

Congrats on the purchase -- you won't be disappointed. Just a reminder, before gently inserting your plug, don't forget to do some warm-up and apply water-based lube to your anal opening and on the plug first.

If or when you tired of the naughty mood, go for one of the N Joy plugs. Stainless might sound "hard", but actually it is more comfortable. They also require less lube and easy to clean. Don't retain smells either. I found the naughty moods to be too long. The N Joys are shorter and the weight adds much to the pleasure. Check out the reviews. Oh I forgot they are out of stock currently. Ask Stormy to put back in if you decide to go with them. Be foolish to lose business. N Joys are great products. We have 3 of them so far. Oh yes and they should last a lifetime.

I actually started with plugs. Never tried beads, but that does sound like fun. Probably easier to start with beads as well. Well, truth be told, i started with small waterproof vibrators, butt, you want to be careful with those. You don't want it to slip too far in. You might have to visit the dr to get it out.

Probes are my favorite so far. I have the groove and it starts out small and gradually gets larger so I think it's good for beginners and intermediates.

It's a mater of taste as to what you enjoy. I, for example, started out with the Doc Johnson classic medium (30 years ago) in a mostly sexual frame of mind, (being gay, back then, raw sexual pleasure was of paramount importance) although I always wanted to wear it 24/7, 365. It was't possible, though because of the very large, flexible base. It wasn't designed for longterm use, only for raw sexual pleasure. Being used to the feel of a buttplug in my anus and up my rectum for 30 years, that's what I prefer, along with either the long, tapered classic design, or the long prostate massager design. This is why I love the mood naughty lines from Doc Johnson with their extremely comfortable, ergonomically designed bases that fit comfortably between the ass cheeks. But they're not for every body/everyone.

Each to their own. What is appealing to one person is unappealing to someone else. Experiment and find out what you like and go with that. Whatever works for you.
