I just tried the Rhapsodia and when I took it out there was some... residue on it. I've had anal sex with my partner and used smooth dildos and never had that happen. Do bulges or textures on toys tend to grab onto stuff or was it just a coincidence?
Texture = Messy?

Textured toys definitely need a more thorough cleaning in my experience. The texture provides nooks and crannies for lube/fluids to gather in. I've started using an old toothbrush to clean some.

Yep the bulbs tend to cause more residue to be left on it. I just make sure I have something to put it on once I take it out so that it doesn't get on anything until I clean it!

Something smooth coming out gets the benefit of the sphincter acting like a "squeegee", whereas your toys with texture's do not get the same benefit, at least not as much.
Funny how "stuff" will stick to a lubed up toy. Best bet is a anal douche or figuring out you body's cycle. I just keep a spare towel or something, just in case.

Paper towels are nice to have already torn off nearby.
I find type of lube makes a difference - less seems to stick to a toy when oil lubes are used. If a toy is heavily textured there's not too much difference.
For large or textured toys I generally will take a small enema/anal douche beforehand. Not only does it keep things cleaner, but you don't have hard things getting stuck on the toy and rubbing up against your anus.

Yeah, that's the only problem with texture-it needs a good thorough cleaning.

Thanks for the responses. I never understood why people found it necessary to use an enema or douche before, but now it makes sense. I'm glad I tried it out by myself first rather than with my partner.

Yeah, that can be an unpleasant surprise, especially if you've just been telling your partner how the mess isn't really a problem.
