My husband told me to get a butt plug for my next review, and I don't want to back down, I really wanna try, I believe it will help me become more open to the world of Anal play.
I'm slightly scared, and I'm wondering, which of these plugs will be better for a first time user like me?

I would choose the Ryder

If you've never played back there at all, I'd actually suggest something smaller like the Li'l End by Doc Johnson. But, from your list Ryder is the best.

I would pick the ryder, but I agree with ksparkles on this one.

I would go with Ryder.

The Ryder is no beginner toy - at 1.5" dia, you'll need some time to build up to that. The Bootie is smaller - and silicone, so that's me recommendation.

I haven't gotten an anal toy yet because I really don't want to get anything lower than a 7 on the safety scale. So, I would say to pick the smallest one out of the Cody, Ryder and Bootie.

Ryder, it's pretty basic and not an intimidating shape or size IMO.

The Ryder is a nice plug, but I'd be slightly hesitant to recommend it. From personal experience I can say that 1 1/2" is manageable for someone just starting out, but the problem is that the Ryder is quite blunt and doesn't have much taper, which is where you'll get into trouble.
As an alternative I'd suggest another silicone plug from Tantus, the Flirt. It has a long gentle taper, and is slightly narrower at its widest point at only 1 3/8"
I'd be inclined to avoid any plugs smaller than 1 1/4", because they'll be so easy to insert that you'll immediately want something bigger. There's no sense buying a finger-sized toy when you could just use your actual finger for the same purpose.

Yep, start with a finger or two, then move on.
The Flirt is a good plug for warm-up or for active play, but it doesn't stay in well on its own - but that's about the only bad part.

This was exactly what I was going to say. That's not a super slimline plug! Start with something smaller, and possibly more tapered at the tip.

I would definitely pick among the Cody, Ryder and Bootie. They're all out of silicone, and thus WAY safer than the other toys. I like the shape of the Ryder best, but either the Ryder or the Cody would work well for beginners.

I'd pick Bootie.

the ryder looks like the best one on your list. But I would go with the pure plug.

Ryder looks like a fun ride!

I think that the Bootie would be the gentlest intro into butt plugs. The Ryder is liked by a lot of people but it has a little more girth than I would recommend for first time experimentation. There are some other good suggestions that ScottA and Incendiare have made.

The ryder or the bootie.

The Ryder is a great choice!

The Bootie looks best

Ryder

The ryder looks the most comfy for a beginner. You could also get the njoy pure plug in small.
07/05/2012
Bootie, if you're looking for something quite small and nonthreatening
07/05/2012
Anuses are universal. It doesn't matter if you're female, male, or anything other or in between - a good butt plug will work for anyone. On that note, I highly recommend njoy Pure Plug small for beginners.

While most voted for the Rider, I would seriously reconsider that choice. I use to own the Rider, but threw it away. The base is very unstable, since it is made of silicone; not large enough and too thin.

Ryder is good, but the Bootie by Fun Factory was my first and is amazing.
