My first glass toy looked basically identical to this one, except that it had some swirls on one end. I would post a picture but I'm taking a lazy day today. I bought mine at a sex shop in my area.
I honestly didn't warm up to glass immediately. It took me a day or two to get the feel of it. I hated how long it took glass to warm up, but eventually I started to respect and cherish the cold feeling of glass inside of you.
The one thing I loved is how you barely need any lubrication to use a glass toy, since they are non-porous. I have a lot of trouble makin my own self-lubrication due to my hormonal imbalances and medications. Glass is just perfect for me for that very reason.
Another reason is that I don't need to stop all the fun on my period. Other toys absorb your blood and germs, when glass doesn't absorb crap. So who cares if you're bleeding a little bit?
Ever since I bought my first glass toy, I would say that a ood 80-90% of my toys that I buy are made of nothing but Pyrex glass.
It is definitely a love affair...

My first glass toy was the Kissa- kind of intimidating! But I automatically fell in love with it. It was different textures, for sure.
I really adored the fact that I could pick the temperatures during play. But I definitely know how you feel about the warming up, that's frustrating in the beginning..
Also, I feel you on the self-lubrication issue. I deal with the exact same thing.
But now a lot of the toys I buy are either silicone or Pyrex glass. I don't think I want anything but. They're perfect!

My first glass toy was the gold ribbed g-spor wonder, highly textured!!!
It took me a bit of practice to get used to the hardness of the glass, the angle of the shaft as well as the crazy ribbed texture. But once I got the twist, I never looked back!

My first glass toy was the Midnight Twist. I absolutely LOVED it right away, and still do. I totally LOVE glass, and am working on growing my collection. I really took to glass, and immediately realized why so many people rant and rave about how great it is.

My first (and at present, only) glass toy would be the Bent Graduate. Or, as I like to call it, "The Magnificent Bastard that Finally Found My G-spot." I love the damn thing, and I actually quite like the cool feeling that occurs before it warms to my body temperature.
I'd love to get more glass toys in the future. Seems like a worthwhile investment.
