The phenomenon started, I believe, in countries where it's illegal for sex toys to look too explicit. Having little rabbits and dolphins on them in these places helps them to pass legal. It can also be helpful to make toys less intimidating (I believe this is Fun Factory's philosophy).

And then of course there are people like me who aren't bothered by little animals on my toys. I think they're cute (though of course "cute" does not exactly equate to "sexy," I'll give you that).

I'll take abstract over realistic most every time. I just generally find it to be more aesthetically pleasing. I don't mind realistic toys, and something with flesh tones, "realistic" feel, etc. wouldn't bother me. Fake hair would be a little weird though.

Both can be good, but I think I prefer non-realistic dildos. There are several reasons, and I'll admit that one is psychological. Since a abstract dildo is not tied to any specific model it is theoretically possible for it to be more stimulating.

As realistic as Tantus O2 or Vixen's VixSkin boys is enough for me. Veins are nice if they are there to provide texture. I don't care for paints - especially if they rub off (guess where they go!). Fake hair would be just another thing to wash.

As long as it looks well made and provides results I will love every and any silicone/glass/metal/c eramic/wood dildo!.
