I recommend only using a water based lube with silicone toys. Hopefully others will be more helpful then myself. You could always turn to Google to see what pops up over there

Greetings from the Middle Kingdom!

Actually... No one can really give you a perfect answer other than the sex Toy manufacturer. All we can give you is our personal opinion and experience.

I don't know if you have gotten the chance to read my Love Balm review (on my iPad and I do not know how to copy and paste links..... Oh! Rosie!! Can you link it? Merci buttocks!) but since I received my Love .balms which are just cold pressed virgin organic coconut oil, some essential oils and some vitamin E.... I will never go back.

If you have looked at some of my reviews, my toy arsenal mainly has Fun Factory, Jopen, Lelo and other luxury line vibrators and glass dildos, wood, steel.... And I now only use coconut oil lubes. I even started making my own coconut lube as well.

I have never had a problem with the silicone while using coconut oil straight from the jar (was too lazy to get my jar of lube so just used the one I use for cooking), I find it longer lasting and less irritating than any other 'organic' lubes out there. I prefer it over any anal lube on the market and my body responds better to it. I find my vagina feels healthier after using it as well.

Sounds strange I know!

For use on toys, the only draw back I've discovered is that all my toys take a little longer to clean. I've not noticed any problems with the quality of the silicone or anything like that. There has been no degradation of any kind that I have noticed. The only issue I've had has been with my Jopen vr2 where my use and juices get stuck in the little recharging port and it takes some effort to clean.

I must say, I do not know how coconut oil as a live would work on non-luxury line toys.

If you have any questions about using coconut oil as a lube or have any questions about some
lube recipes let me know by pm as I do not look in the forum unless someone tells me to look.

I forgot to mention. Coconut oil is not safe to use with condoms or diaphragms.

The other thing I'd like to mention is, take some melted coconut oil and pour it into an ice cube tray. Once frozen let your partner use that on and in your body. It really does provide some new and interesting play time. Be sure you both are not allergic to nuts before use.

Oil based lubricants are safe to use with 100% silicone toys. However, most people do not recommend it for vaginal use because it can promote infection. Having said that, there are also individuals that can use oil based lubes vaginally without any problems.

And here's Woman China's review on Love Balm: link

Nena please be aware of what kind of coconut oil you are using. Be sure it says organic (who knows these days if it truly is actually organic, but make sure it's got the seal on it), ensure it says "cold pressed" "virgin" or extra virgin, that it says, "unrefined". When you open the container, you should smell a nutty scent (not the sweet beach coconutty scent we are used too) and that at about 76F it melts a little.

I know sounds silly, but like I said in my review, whatever goes in you ends up in your bloodstream.

Thanks Woman, for all the useful information. Do you think this might be the ideal organic cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil to use?

Dear GooseEgg...

You know I adore you lots and lots and you are one funny Lady trying to get me to return to the Forums you know.

Nutiva is the brand for my choice, my sister who... well I have no idea what she really does, she grows things for organic sellers and usually scoffs and laughs at what people call organic these days (ok, I call her the plant doctor if that helps). She says Nutiva is one of the better choices out there.

I would prefer the oil come in a bottled container, but the cost of shipping would be out of this world. But if you have the choice... that is something to think of.

If I had coconut oil in the store and able to be bought easy enough, I would buy one for the bedroom, for the kitchen and the bathroom. And then have a cupboard full of the stuff.

You can use it with cocoa butter in making edible massage bars too if you are interested!!!
