painful after orgasm

Contributor: In Love In Love
Me and my boyfriend just tried out a cock ring for the first time tonight. We didn't take it before he finished, and after he came it was extremely painful for him and we couldn't figure out how to take it off. Just curious if anybody has any insight into this...Thanks!

In my experience, cock rings can be a little difficult to remove in general. did you use it with lube? In the future, that might help.

How long did he wear it for? The general advice is to not wear one for longer than 20 minutes. If you notice swelling, discoloration (purple), or it's painful than you need to take it off.

"Spending too long with a cock ring on can damage the capillaries and bruise the penis, leaving you sore for a few days. Cock rings aren't recommended for anyone with vascular disease, such as diabetes, or nerve disease. If you experience discomfort, take it off."

I also suggest a snap closure or really stretchy cock ring. Something easy to remove and not as tight. That is, if he's not put off to the idea already.

Seems like the cock ring was too small and rigid. Lube, as mentioned, is important. Ice can help in a pinch. Shortly after climax, the erection does subside and a guy can remove the ring.

This is actually something I mentioned in one of my reviews! Not being able to get a cock ring off is one of the more stressful parts of sex toy play in my opinion! If you aren't used to using a ring I would suggest something with quick release (like In the Pink says) or something that has a customizable size. With cock rings the #1 problem I find is sizing; Too tight = painful, uncomfortable and numb, Too loose = does nothing for ya.

As for the pain I am not 100% sure anyone but a doctor could tell you that one. And I doubt thats something any guy would want to bring up with the doc either. I have experienced pain after orgasm while using a cock ring and it was 100% because the ring was too tight. When your all wound up just 'given er' I never notice the small pains. When I'm done they come and hit ya. Know what I mean? So I'd check sizing and maybe try again (be careful, watch for color change, numbness etc). If it keeps happening maybe just terf the ring and try something else? Nothing is worth that "oo my god" pain afterwards. Nothing

awesome, thanks guys. That helps a lot. I think we might just have to ditch that first one and find something else that's bigger and be sure to use lots of lube Thanks again!

The snap-off style is definitely great for taking the cock ring off afterward! With the stretchy kind, you just got to hold your breath, close your eyes really tight, and pray that it's not so wet that it slips out of your fingers midway through removal. Otherwise you might just wake up a few days days later in the hospital. Once you get caught up in the idea that sex is about to happen, you never really think about taking it off when you are done. But even with the stretchy kind it is still worth it. The element of testicular rupturing adds a much lacking element of danger to sex.

Yeah the metal rings scare me, I'd hate to go to the emergency room to have it removed. Can we say awkward. I always go with ones that are stretchy or quick releasing. Just in case i need to get out of a tight spot quick.

We use a nice rubber set. They work wonderful, stretch with erection but stay tight enough to do their job, and allow the erection to subside to remove it. We love them a lot.
