The plain silicone ring is hard to beat for convenience and effectiveness - they are also easier to put on for the inexperienced.

I voted for the silicone one, because I think you will get more use out of it. The vibrations are nice, but the disposable ones are more expensive if you use more than one of them, and the reusable one's just aren't as effective, and usually of lesser grade materials.

I voted other for the basic reason that EVERYONE is different. Especially if you are shopping for a c-ring for your partner to wear, and not yourself... you always need to ask their preference first. I think when first shopping for c-rings, buy a couple. Don't spend a wad of cash but buy a few different rings made of different materials and experiment to see what you like... and what your partner likes. If you are a man and you cannot stand your dick to be squeezed, go for a more stretchy and jelly-like material. If you enjoy more of a solid feel, or more of a squeeze, gradually go more solid. Make sure to use measurements, and buy something YOUR SIZE. If your own size is still bothering you, buy a cock ring made for someone a little bit bigger. I learned the hard way this weekend that when they advertise measurements for toys, it's not always the comfortable measurement.
