My Magic Wand is still going strong after 10 years. However, your mileage my vary since the lifespan will depend on how much you use the toy and wear the motor down. The head of the wand can become dirty and discolored but you can/should replace that with a silicone top. At least the Magic Wand is relatively inexpensive compared to some wireless rechargable vibrators.

I've used my magic wand at least four times a week for over two years and mine is still in perfect working order.

I've had my Hitachi for years. I love it! I agree with dv8's suggestion above to consider a silicone topper or attachment for the Hitachi head.
