For some unknown reason I sometimes cry during sex. This has happened 4-5 times with 2 different guys. It happened for the first time with my current boyfriend about 2 days ago. I could feel the tears wanting to come out and I held them in as long as I could until after he finished. But afterwards, I started crying and he thinks that he did something wrong or that I'm mad and just wont tell him why I'm crying. I honestly don't know why I do it.

I've tried looking on here and found topics about crying at these times, but it was mainly people saying that it happens after an intense orgasm. That's not the case with me. I have a hard time having an orgasm and have never actually had one during sex even though I enjoy the sex greatly.

I don't like that my boyfriend gets upset that I'm crying even though I think I finally got him to believe me when I told him it has happened to me before and I have no clue as to why. And that was the first time he has ever seen me cry so he really didn't know what to do.

I've never had a bad experience with sex for it to bring back bad memories. I'm not a victim of abuse or rape. I'm not on birth control pills so that's not what makes me emotional. The sex doesn't cause enough pain for me to cry.

Anyone else ever cry during sex that was caused by an unknown origin? Or know how I can try to figure this out?

I have done that myself a time or two. I think a lot of it stems from the emotional state you are in prior to making love. If you have been stressed or upset sometimes these can manifest when we expose our bodies to the intimacy of sex. I don't think it is anything to be worried about. I think it is simply a way your body is reliving emotions. Think about it sex is a vulnerable thing at any time. You are exposing your mind and body and all of the nerves and the like to a constant source of stimuli from different directions. Something at some point has got to give. That response is as unique as we are. It can vary and change from each incident. That is what makes us women.

This makes sense. I've openly wept once or twice during sex without knowing why and without having an orgasm.

Oh yeah, I've never had a traumatic sexual experience but I've definitely had a lot of random, somewhat intense crying during sex.

Sometimes it can be right after I finish and it's just kind of an emotional release.

Sometimes it happens in the middle of things and it's only been recently that I've noticed a little bit of a pattern. I think it happens if things are getting a little rougher and it's a vulnerability thing.

This happened to me once with my boyfriend. No fucking clue why. I think it was just because I was happy to have an emotional connection during sex. I'm not used to having that with anyone lol.
