From what I understand, you usually don't have a choice between vertical and horizontal... your anatomy allows for one or the other. Your piercer should be able to give you a recommendation as to what would work best for you.

In addition to bioplast you could save up for a bar made of a higher quality metal like titanium or something. Usually that and gold are highly recommended when there's a nickel allergy

I haven't tried titanium, but I'm definitely going to save up for a gold one. They're just so pretty :p

I have my tongue pierced. My ex at the time...his response was the best. Once I healed and could give him head, I caught him in the hallway for an impromptu blowjob. He fell into the wall!

I got my nipples done some time after but never moved beyond the original barbells (usually money spent on better things) but I snagged one one time and I seriously considered taking them out! I kept them in, though, all the way up until a few months ago. One kept getting irritated and I decided, since it was the right, that I was through with that half of the hassle. I still have the left in - figure I'll make that one my wedding ring.

I've also got 5 holes in each ear and wouldn't mind a couple of facial piercings. I haven't quite made my mind up on those. Heh.

Surgical steel is another good one I thought of earlier today. I normally go with titanium for most of mine because they can be made in just about any color. Like the bar in my septum is a 3/16" long threadless pink titanium bar. Cost way too much, but it's really hard to make a bar that tiny usable, lol.

Gold is a great choice tho, I don't think I've ever seen anybody have a problem with gold jewelery that came from a reputable source

Surgical steel, although is contains very little nickel, still has enough to give me an allergic reaction. Yup, I'm THAT allergic to it :\

Wow, that sucks. It's good that you tried it, but still crappy that it gave you an allergic reaction. I would stick with titanium or like you said you were going for, the gold. Just make sure that you get it from a good reliable source, because I've seen a lot of 'gold plated' things, and gold plated is just not the same, lol

Currently I only have 2 holes in each ear, my cartilage in one ear, and my belly button pierced. I used to have my eyebrow pierced with a small barbell, and I loved it! Never had any problems with it, though it did leave a tiny, barely noticeable scar when I took it out.

My favorite piercing ever was my nipple. I only had one pierced, and the reason I pierced the one I did was because the other, unpierced one was so sensitive and I was afraid of losing that sensation. However, the pierced one, after given a few months to heal, turned out to be super-sensitive and has remained sensitive even a year after I took out the barbell. Again, I never really had any problems with it. You just have to be really careful about catching things on it and tugging (like your clothes)! I miss having my nipple pierced and might actually go get the other one done this time to increase sensitivity.

I currently just have both ears with one time each (I rarely wearing earrings, they've been done since I was 2), both nipples, and a vertical clitoral hood (VCH). I had my tongue and labret done but I've since taken those out. Sometimes I consider taking my VCH out, I have had it for 7 years now and I'm just sort of bored with it. When I first got it done it would sit just right on my jeans seam or a shaky bus ride would make it go insane, and sex was absolutely amazing but I've grown too used to it or something. I don't think that I've lost any sensation though.
The tongue was useful, but I was afraid of what I was doing to my teeth over the years and figured it was just time for it to go.
As for my nipples, those aren't going anywhere any time soon. I love them.

I think my own anatomy is more suited for a vertical one and I liked that the ring wiggles around more. Plus I like the ability of the ring to just poke out. So partly esthetics and partly functionality from talking to others.

lol @ Metallic wang.

Even with a condom... There is no denying the extreme level of texture and sensation you get from those kinds of piercings. Which would be just lovely if I liked a lot of texture. Boohoo!

I'm a huge fan of body modification.

I have quite a few piercings myself, but no genital metal yet. However, I did get my nipples pierced, and it was the absolute best thing I could have done for them, as they weren't sensitive at all before the piercing, but now they're crazy sensitive, and I'm very happy about that.

I hope to have a clitoral hood piercing some day.

I find piercings sexy on other people, but I'm satisfied with only two piercings in each ear. I do not want any more gunk, smell, and infections to deal with (which can happen even when kept clean). As for what and where, it really depends on the person. As long as it doesn't get too crowded. I've even seen a man with a belly-button piercing that looked great.

I've never met a cock piercing in person, but I have a secret fantasy of picking up a reserved nerdy guy only to pull down his pants to find one

I can't answer whey she choose that one but it provides more stimulation in most women, which is why I choose it.

I currently just have both nipples, a VCH, and just regular plain old ear piercings, one in each ear, done when I was 2. I used to have a labret and a tongue but those have been out for quite some time.

I sort of want a dermal anchor by my eye ( it'd look sorta like this, but just the top one, no bottom part) with a very small blue gemstone. Definitely not red though, it'd end up looking just like a zit. But I probably won't.

The number and the piercings definitely depend on the person. I think nipple piercings are really hot on a VERY small number of guys.

I think when you have like 15 that is overboard. I agree, I have never understood the whole genitial piercing. The pain of all that would be ridiculous.

I had never heard of those before this thread. I think it looks beautiful on the hips. I thought I knew a lot about piercings until this thread. I'm learning quite a bit. Lol

I think it depends on the person you are with.

Over ther last 4 years with my boyfriend I have started out with, gotten more, and lost some piercings...so it just depends on your general idea of piercings..

I currently have:
Nape (surface on back of neck)
VCH (Vertical Clitoral Hood)
Ear lobes 0g
Tragus piercing
ear cartiledge piercing

Retired:
Nipples (had them done when we met, re-pierced 2 years ago, and rejected again.)
Nostril
Monroe in lip

I think my nipples do nto want to cooperate with piercings because of their shape, so i've given up on them, my nose was taken out by accident- i forgot to put it bac in after taking it out for cleaning one night, and i couldn't get it back in by the time i rememberd. My monroe i loved, and did not want to take it out but i was wearing mental jewlery before the PTFE and soft flexible jewlery came out-erroded some of my gums on an eye-tooth so it was cauing me pain- i decided to take it out.
If i get any more recent piercings it will be my labia minora (lips), and my nasal septum, and a tongue web (easy to hide with my profession)

My boyfriend started out with 0 piercings when I met him. In the last 4 years things have changed, he now has his ear lobes stretch to a 00g but at one time they were 3 1/2' -largeee. He has also had a few Hafada piercings on his scrotum (i pierced 2), and a Frenum piercing (which I pierced aswell) /7 now some of those are retired, as well as a labret piercing...

They looked sexy on him, but I love him either way!! i have always been into piercings...but i have never dated anyone with them, I guess i converted him I don't really think that any piercing is insane, as the person is wanting them for a reason...who am i to judge. I am not a fan of the bridge nose piercing...but that is just me

I think it is entirely a personal/individual thing.

I have a VCH and love it. The only thing I don't like about it is that it makes using toys a little noisier if you are using a vibrator made of any hard materials. But it's a small price to pay for the extra stimulation. Plus, it's pretty!

Let's see...I have my lip, nostril and septum pierced. I have a conch piercing in my left ear, then three holes in each ear with my first holes gauged to 7/16in. I also have the top of my left ear pierced.

In the past I have had my tongue(which I loved but it hurt the bf during oral), other nostril, nipples, two industrials (one in each ear), a Monroe and the right side of my lower lip pierced.

In the future I plan on getting snakebites in addition to my center lip peircing, my right nostril done again and my nipples done again. I might also get a conch piercing in my right ear. Oh, and a VCH once I lose the weight I want to get rid of.

I think it depends on the person. Sometimes a piercing can look weird but great on someone else. People also have different taste so someone else might like the one I think looks weird.

In general I like body piercings and think 95% of the time they look good!
