Vaginal Discharge Question

Contributor: JessCee JessCee
I've tried searching different terms on the forums and I'm kind of surprised I couldn't find anything.

So, for a while now (a year of so) I have had this thick, white-ish vaginal discharge. It has no odor whatsoever and doesn't cause any itching . The only thing uncomfortable about it is having a random wet spot throughout the day... so I haven't given it a second thought until I asked a friend about it and she didn't seem to think it was normal at all.

Does anyone else have (or ever had) this? Any thoughts on what it might be? Is this even anything I should be worrying about?

I experience the same thing. Most of the time it is a clear-ish/white-ish. I asked my OB/GYN about it about 20 years ago because I started noticing it daily on my panties. She told me, "...as long as it isn't causing itchy, burning, or odor not to worry. The vagina uses this milk-colored substance as a way to sort of clean itself out."

Sounds like mucus. If it doesn't cause itching, burning, and doesn't resemble an infection, don't worry about it.

I have that thick, creamy like, white-ish discharge too. Doesn't itch, doesn't happen all the time, but is still there a lot of the time. So you're not alone! I'd agree with Redboxbaby's OB.

A lot of women are just... juicy. We put out a lot of lubricant (which is better for us than not putting out enough for our health) and as long as it doesn't burn, itch, or smell bad, it's usually fine.

You may notice it changes consistency with your fertility cycle, more clear and stretchy when you are ovulating and a bit stickier right before your period or right after. If you are on hormonal BC, it may stay the same all month long.

As long as you are able to keep fairly dry, (I change my panties twice a day at times) and you have no discomfort, it shouldn't be a problem.

Sounds about right. If you are really worried, check with your OBGYN, otherwise it sounds normal.

Sounds perfectly normal. It's also fine for the consistency to vary at different times during your cycle, and it varies between creamy white and clear. As long as it's not painful, itchy, or has a bad odor, you should be good to go.

Yep, ditto what everyone else says. I'm also a pretty darn juicy woman, so I deal with this too. I wear panty liners and change them a lot, and when I'm at home I go commando and keep tissues handy.

I have it too. Also if you have a man come inside of you this could be part of them. Sometimes you suck some up and the you clean it out naturally. Only place for it to go is out. Like others said it is normal and as long as you do not have itchy, burning, or it smells you are good.

This is good to hear because I've always been self conscious about how wet I stay all the time. Glad to hear I'm not alone! I easily produce a tsunami of lube when I'm aroused, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I naturally stay wet.

Its totally normal. I've had that daily since my teens. In fact it drove me nuts to have wet panties all the time.

Wait 20 years. I guarantee you it won't still be a problem.

I have that too but not as bad. At least I won't be as dry as other people when I'm older (:
