Because there is just as much evidence on the other side that shows it's not at all more dangerous when done in moderation than going out in the sun in moderation. It gives you vitamin D the same way too.

I don't tan all the time. I usually start around April/May and go for about ten sessions just so I can get my pastey skin ready for summer. When I do tan, I tan naked.

To each their own on everything. As people on Eden Fantasys, we all know that! I tan naked, and I research the places available to me. My salon is a busy place with well trained employees who make you watch them clean the beds before you close the door. It is clean and friendly and not over-priced, but not the cheapest one. They personally check your eye protection and lotion. If they don't approve, they don't let you tan unless you buy something from them. It is wonderful in moderation.

As for spray on tans, these are great too! Try to find out what the formula is before you get one. If the personnel can't answer your questions, don't go there! You want knowledgeable staff and a clean facility. It is a great option for people who don't want to use UV beds.

Hope that helps anyone thinking about tanning.

Naked all the way! Im with some of the other ladies...If Im going to be paying top dollar each time I go in there, (and more than likely you're doing this for the "summer hype") then my ass cheeks, nipples and legs all better be the same color! LOL. Its not the matter of WHO is going to see it all, its the fact that I KNOW Im all one color LOL

I tan naked always and most of the time in my back yard. I don't really do the booth thing but for winter I guess you dont have much choice. Yes... I know its not good for me... neither is running with sharp objects, driving over the speed limit or working in a profession that requires me to wear body armor and 60 pounds of ammo and gear... so I'm not super worried about it cause knowbody gets out of here and to heaven alive.

Luckily its summer here in Australia so i have plenty of sun to tan in!
I always tan naked in the backyard (have been busted a couple of times by the 2 storey houses around me!)
Although when im at the beach im normally just wearing a brazilian bikini or sometimes go to a nude beach to tan

Just like anything else, moderation is key. I go maybe once a week or so during the winter. Basically just to keep myself one shade above pale. In the long run I think I'll be just fine. My friend who goes everyday on her lunch break, however, probably not so much.

Do any of you use lotion? I buy mine on amazon and find I do get better color...

Moderate tanning is not massively risky if you're not super pale or have a genetic cancer risk.

I haven't been in a tanning bed for years. I don't tan and it was a waste of time.

Not likely to happen in a standup, which is what I use. I am probably exposed to worse germs riding the train.
