Gia: Portrait Of A Pornstar by Vivid - review by Heartthrob

Enter the world of a porn star and learn how she came to fame. See the world through her eyes and travel with her through her struggles and triumphs. Although the movie is presented as nonfiction it is important to remember that the film does not depict the life of Sunny. Instead fragments of the lives of other stars have been glued together to create a fiction film that mimics nonfiction.

This is by far not your normal porn. We move from interview scenes with stars like Ron Jeramy (too bad he wasn't in the sex scenes) to plot scenes to sex scenes. So, we see how others viewed Gia, then we get a glimpse into her life, and then get treated to some sex. The interviews were all done at the AVN awards and feature stories about real porn stars. They're honest and true to life but you have to remember that the porn is not about Sunny, it's a stained glass picture of a lot of porn star's lives.

A lot of the scenes are girl on girl and involve a lot of licking, fingering, and toy play. The first boy on girl sex scene was pretty vanilla but offered great shots, had a lot of oral and intense intercourse. However in the film we see Sunny's first anal and DP experience! Too good to miss.

The plot involves Gia's entry into the porn industry. Between the scenes we have 8 sex scenes which include lots of girl on girl, intercourse, oral, and anal.

The film is produced by Sunny Leone, Daniel Weber, and Spencer Benedict. The film is directed by Spencer Benedict. The film was done by Vivid Productions which was a surprise since some of the scenes did not involve condoms and Vivid is such a proponent to condom use. Run time is over 3 hours.

The cast includes: Dale DaBone, Dyanna Lauren, Herschel Savage, Janine, Monica Mayhem, Randy West, Ron Jeremy, Jennifer Dark, Sunny Leone, Debi Diamond, Tori Black, Lexi Belle, Bill Bailey, Breanne Benson, Ryan Driller, and Ariel King. In my opinion everyone did a great job in the interviews, sex, and acting.

Bonus features include: Directors Cut, Behind the scenes footage, deleted scenes, out takes, and photo gallery. In all, the bonus features (on a second disk) run 5 hours. The main disk has a stunning main menu and chapter selection feature.

In all, a good porn that really immerses you into the world of those who entertain us.

As you know by now, I don't like normal porn. I like porn to have a meaning, Gia gives me a real glimpse into the everyday lives and struggles of porn stars. For me that's a real plus making this film far from ordinary.
