Batman XXX - A Porn Parody by Vivid - review by uberdork

Let me preface this by saying that I read more comic books now then I did when I was a kid, and Batman is one that I've been reading since the 1989 movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson came out. And before that, I would watch the campy old 1960's TV show.

"Batman XXX" is not what I would call a porn parody. I'd consider it more an X-rated homage to the old series. The costumes were dead on (despite the Bat-symbols and Robin's R's being replaced with X's), and the backgrounds were perfect; even the casting was brilliant.

Randy Spears as the Joker was particular was good. He went so far as growing a mustache to get ready for the part. Caesar Romero, who played the Joker in the 60's, had a mustache that he refused to shave off for the role. He saw it as kind of his symbol. So the make up artists covered it with the same white face paint that they used on the rest of his face. The make up artists for this porn did the same with Randy Spears.

James Deen was also a dead ringer for Burt Ward as Robin. His vocal performance was reminiscent of the TV Robin, and Deen went so far as to mimic the way Ward would always punch his hand when in Robin mode.

And of course, there is Dale DaBone as Bruce Wayne/Batman. He was doing more than an impression of Adam West. It was like he immersed himself in West's old performances. He had the same dry, earnest delivery of lines that was the trade mark of Batman in the 60's.

It wasn't all good, though. Tori Black as Catwoman really didn't work for me. Her performance was almost schizophrenic, like she was trying to be Julie Newmar, Lee Merriweather, and Ertha Kitt all at the same time, while throwing in some Michelle Pfifer for good measure. And her threeway scene with Batman and Robin was just boring. It was as if she was trying too hard to talk dirty while she was with them. Catwoman is a dirty girl, no doubt about it, but this was just over the top.

That's not to say all the sex was bad; far from it. The long time nerd in me loved the Robin/Batgirl scene. As a reader of the books since I was a kid, and knowing the history between Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon, finally getting to see them go at it was a major geek out moment. And it was a good scene!

Lexi Belle embraced the Batgirl role, and that showed in her scene with Robin. In fact, that's the high point of the movie for me. I'll skip ahead straight to that scene!

This has quickly become my favorite dirty movie. Even if I'm not feeling frisky, I'll put the movie on and enjoy the naughty geekiness! A must have for the comic book nerd on your life.
