A Wrinkle In Time.

The Pulse Probe is a weird cookie. The vibes are strong but only in the shaft. If you don't mind that the vibes won't be felt in the G-spot bulb, then this is the perfect match for you. Despite the thick shaft size, I would say that this could be the perfect toy for beginners out there. It is made of a safe and squishy material, it is aimed for the G-spot, and the design is non-threatening. Throw in the fact that it is waterproof, and it is almost perfect!

Use

The Pulse Probe is a unique spin on a G-spot vibrator. It is made of body safe materials, it is waterproof, and it is a nice size. It is a little thick for those who are just starting out with insertable toys. However, Size Queens/Kings may be left wanting more. This toy is perfect for anyone who enjoys medium sized toys for insertion. The toy has an awesome G-spot bulb that is curved to help rub all the right places. Because it is waterproof, Pulse can be used in the shower or bathtub. This is perfect for those living with roommates because the running water will drown out any noise that is created from this toy. That being said, this would be a great vibe for bedroom use as well because it isn't that loud. I think this is a toy best used for vaginal penetration simply because there isn't a flared base to make this anal safe. For those that want to use this for anal anyways, please be safe. This is a pretty long toy, so it should be easy to always maintain a firm grip on the toy. For those men out there who don't mind using a feminine looking vibrator, the curved bulb could very well massage and stimulate the prostate.

Material / Texture

Material:
Pulse is made out of body safe silicone. This type of silicone is very forgiving. By that, I mean that it is very flexible and squishy. It also has a good amount of drag, but that is easily taken care of with a few drops of water based lubricant. Silicone is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, and latex/phthalates free. Even though silicone doesn't absorb and harbor bacteria, I would still suggest putting a condom over the toy if sharing or going between vaginal and anal. Pulse didn't arrive with any weird smells or tastes. I also want to point out, just in case anyone was wondering, that the "Try Me" portion of silicone matches the texture and feel of the silicone on the actual toy. One bad thing about this material is that is attracts any and every bit of lint and hair. For this reason, I really suggest washing it before each use. The battery compartment and dial controls are made from plastic. This is also a non-porous and overall safe material for the body. The silicone shaft covers plastic, so the shaft is pretty rigid.

Texture:
This toy has some weird texture to it. The entire shaft is covered in wrinkles. It kind of resembles an elephant's long nose. These wrinkles are not deep at all, and I honestly cannot feel them during use. Because they are so shallow, the wrinkles do not trap fluids. This makes cleaning and care very easy. The wrinkles add a nice physical feature to it, but I would like it more if I was able to feel the texture. It is still cool to look at though. I am so proud to say that I could not find any seams on this toy. How awesome is that? The plastic dial has ridges on it to help slippery fingers keep a nice grip.

Design / Shape / Size

The overall design is weird and alien-like but in a good way. I didn't fall in love with this for its looks. I thought it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen, but it honestly grows on you. The unique design coincides with the way the toy functions. The entire shaft is pink, and then the G-spot bulb on the top is clear. Yes, it looks like ET's finger, and I have never found ET sexy. Once I used it, though, I understood the design. I learned to appreciate it, and I eventually got over the fact that it looks like something you might find in the deep blue sea. The G-spot bulb is round but not at all phallic in shape. The bulb is curved to hit the G-spot, but of course this will not work for everyone. Not only does it hit my G-spot, but it gives me a full feeling. The thin neck underneath the bulb is very flexible and can make insertion difficult. When applying pressure to the bulb, it tends to bend and squish. The bluntness of the head and the fact that it is made entirely of silicone makes this problem even worse. This toy usually needs a helping hand to guide it into the vagina. Even though the bulbed head is flexible, I like it that way. The softness is just another thing that would make this a great beginner's toy. The clear silicone melts into the pink silicone that covers the rest of the shaft. After the head, the shaft tapers gently which allows the user to get used to the size. The silicone is still super squishy, but it is covering plastic so the shaft is pretty rigid. The size of this toy is a little bit harder to hide, but it isn't impossible. It requires a gallon sized Ziploc bag and a cleared out space in a nightstand drawer. Although the overall design is discreet, I wouldn't travel with this toy due to its size.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Pulse runs on 2 AAA batteries, and it accepts rechargeables. The overall battery life, so far, has been excellent. My batteries have lasted over an hour's worth of playtime (mostly on high constantly). Unscrew the plastic battery cap, insert the batteries, and then screw the cap back on. Be sure to screw the cap on tightly. There is a little sticker that reminds you to do so on the plastic base. This toy does have an O ring, so it is waterproof. It has been taken in the shower and has even been on a little swim in my bathtub, and the O ring has never failed me. If you screw the cap on tightly, this thing is indeed waterproof. To turn the vibrations on, turn the light pink dial until you either reach the desired intensity or the highest level. There is even a diagram on the bottom of the cap that shows which way to turn the dial to increase and decrease the vibrations. This toy only has steady vibrations that gradually increase with the turn of a dial. It has no patterns, but I am a steady vibration kind of girl. All of the vibrations are located in the shaft. It feels like it orginates in the middle and then carries throughout the rest of the...shaft. It doesn't carry at all into the tip. I thought I would at least feel a little vibration in the tip, but to my surprise I felt absolutely nothing. I honestly don't mind this, but I know it will be a huge factor for some people. The vibes carry a bit into the base, but it doesn't really bother my hands. The reason it doesn't bother my hands is because the vibrations fall between rumbly and buzzy. The noise output resembles that of a cell phone vibrating, so this could be the perfect toy for those who live with roommates.
The dial base has to be the only original and traditional thing on this toy. Personally, I don't mind the dial controls. It is easily shut off, and that is always a plus. I have had so many fun times with this toy. It hasn't made me squirt, but it has come very close. I think if the G-spot bulb were to be a little more firm, this toy would be a definite hit for me. It still feels amazing, and it still hits my G-spot. However, the pressure is not enough to make me have a G-spot orgasm. I treat this toy as a warm up G-spot toy. I use this to get my juices flowing before I use a toy that I know will make me squirt. If I ever do squirt from this toy, I don't need to worry because it has proven to me that it is waterproof! I encourage anyone to try this toy. Just know what you are getting into.

Care and Maintenance

Pulse is super easy to keep clean and care for. Thanks to the waterproof feature, there is no need to be careful or cautious when cleaning this toy. Not even the wrinkly texture is deep enough to cause issues. The texture does not trap any fluids, so any lube and such should wash right off. A simple cleaning of warm water and antibacterial soap should do the trick. If you are in a rush, a toy cleaner or toy wipe would suffice. Although it is silicone, I wouldn't recommend boiling or sticking this toy in the dishwasher. The high temps could melt the plastic base and inner wires. I would suggest only using water based lubricants as well because silicone lubes could destroy the toy's silicone surface. Even though the shaft is made out of non-porous silicone, I would still suggest using a condom if sharing with a partner. The silicone tends to collect a ton of line and hair, so I highly suggest storing it in a Ziploc bag or something.

Packaging

Pulse comes in the original plastic clam-shell packaging. The paper insert has yellows, pinks, and silvers to help give it a girlish feel. The vibrator is totally visible, so it isn't discreet at all. There is a "Try Me" sample of the silicone material located in the bottom right corner. The packaging has some information on the front such as "100% Silicone", "Strong Powerful Motor", "Waterproof", "6.5 inches", and "Silky Soft Silicone Casing". The back has some information about the silicone material in many different languages, but English can be found in the top left corner. The typing is very, very small so some may have trouble reading it. The silicone sample and paper insert can be taken and thrown away if desired. The packaging can also be used for storage, but just keep in mind that it isn't discreet.
