Be Careful With This Talon

Our experience with this toy was stimulating, nearly heart stopping, but not at all pleasurable. Do not use this toy unless you like flirting with the idea of an embarrassing trip to the ER.

Use

The Talon is advertised as a prostate stimulator. It is supposed to nestle in the anus and probe the prostate. It has a very small 1 inch long, 1/4 inch wide flimsy tail that is supposed to make this a hands-free toy, although, I would not recommend this.

Evolved Novelties states the Talon is ergonomically correct for maximum comfort, however, all men are not made equally and this toy did not work well for my husband's anatomy. He found the tip of the shaft, although long enough to reach the prostate, to be hard and pointy and the bumps too rigid. He thinks that it would have been nicer if they were more plush or squishy in the areas that probe the prostate.

The Talon is not designed to be a thrusting toy. If that is something you are looking for, this toy is not for you, it could land you in the ER. That said, we were very concerned throughout our play with the Talon that it could be easily lost or sucked in. The tail section is very pliable and it does not have a flared base. The first time we used this toy on my husband, I lost my grip on the tail(my fingers were slick with lube)and the Talon twisted around, straightening out the tail. I feel as if I grabbed it just in time, as I could see it being sucked in. We've used it only once since to see if the first time was just a fluke. Unfortunately, it was not a fluke. We are currently thinking of ways to re-purpose this toy.

Material / Texture

When I opened the package, the first thing I noticed was how small the toy was. The picture on EF does not adequately represent the size. I immediately stuck my nose in the container. Much to my delight, there was absolutely no funny smell.
When I initially grabbed the Talon to remove it from the case, I was impressed at the quality Evolved Novelties put into this tiny little toy. I could not stop running my fingers over it. It feels silky and velvet-like, but the ridges and bumps are not squishy in the slightest. The Talon's insertable section is very firm and stiff. The only pliable part of this toy is exactly where it should not be -- at the tail.

Design / Shape / Size

This toy is discreet. Most people would never know what it was if they saw it in the bathroom, on the nightstand or in your carry-on bag. My initial reaction was that it looked like some kind of hand exerciser. It might work better as one actually. It fits perfectly in my grip, the bumps cradle my fingers as if the talon was made just for them.

My husband considers himself a beginner in the area of anal play and we thought this toy might be a perfect entry level toy, due to its small size. However, we were both surprised at just how small the Talon is. It is shorter than my middle finger in length and its no bigger around than my thumb at its widest point. By the looks of the Talon, it should do exactly what it is supposed to. When inserted, my husband said the Talon felt too hard and pointy at the tip for him to enjoy. He felt like it poked him more than stimulated him and left him feeling irritated and annoyed.

In order to be used safely, Evolve Novelties really should think about a better design. I found myself wishing it had a much longer tail, or had a wrist strap, or pull cord the entire time we were using it.

Performance

My husband and I used this toy for a very short period of time on two occasions. We were so concerned with the safety aspect that it is really difficult for him to say how it actually performed. The tail on our Black Talon is so flexible that it straightens out easily just by pressing on it slightly with a fingertip. I am not sure if this is a defect in the product during manufacturing or if they are purposefully made this way. I certainly hope it is the first.

The best part about this toy is the quality of the material Evolved put into it. I have a couple of silicone toys for myself and I have to say that I am a bit jealous and find myself wishing to have a vibrator somewhat like this of my very own. This might become a toy for me. At least if it gets lost in my vagina we can easily fish it out.

Care and Maintenance

The Talon is 100% silicone and is easily sterilized in boiling water, in the dishwasher or with a bleach solution.
Being made of silicone, it is best to use water-based lubes to avoid damage to your silicone toys.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

It comes in a hard plastic oval dome with a base that serves as a lid. I love the case it comes in, so much so that it is the only toy I have that is stored in its original packaging. Sadly, I think it will remain there from now on.

The dome does clearly state, "Men's prostate massager" on the front, so it is not discreet and you probably would not want to use it as a gift box.

Personal comments

We have used this toy only twice and I found myself to be too concerned with safety and making sure my hands were not slippery to enjoy participating in play and my husband was far too nervous to be able to relax.

Experience

We have never been scared off from a toy before. We have found many that didn't do it for us, but this is the first one that really had us scared. I would not recommend this toy to anyone. I am surprised that this is advertised as a prostate stimulator and that Evolved completely overlooked safety when making this high quality product. What were they thinking?
Follow-up commentary
I just returned the Talon to Eden two days ago. I am hoping that by sending it back, Evolved Novelties will possibly get the message that some sort of precaution needs to be built in to the design of this product.

My husband wanted nothing to do with the Talon after his previous experiences. Although, if Evolved Novelties comes out with a larger/safer version at a later date, he would be interested in trying it.

I would not recommend purchasing the Talon in black; those who purchased it in blue seemed to have had a much better experience.

Thanks for the honest feedback on this one. It's hard to understand how small this thing is, just from the image. Hopefully the company will considering redesigning the base, or even adding some kind of rope handle, so it can be easily retrieved if the toy itself slips out of your grasp.
