Colt Shower Shot Enema Review

The Colt Shower Shot is a cheap, effective enema that cleans you out quickly. It is easy to hook up and easy to use. There are a few things that can be improved and most of those can be fixed with a quick trip to your local hardware store.

Use

The Colt Shower Shot is designed to be inserted anally to inject water into your body. Enemas are used to clean out the lower intestinal tract by introducing liquid that your body then expels.

The Shower Shot, as its name implies, is designed for use in the shower and hooks up to your shower nozzle. It quickly and easily delivers water to your anus.

Material / Texture

The insertable portion is made out of a flexible jelly with holes for the water to shoot out of.
The hose is a flexible 46" long shower hose, much like one you would get in a handheld shower head. The hose comes with standard rubber gaskets to prevent leaking when hooking up to your shower system.

    • No odor

Design / Shape / Size

The insertable portion works well for its designed purpose once you get it in.

With the water on, the streams of water all shoot out perpendicular from the surface. I'm not sure why they decided to put holes on the side as, once inserted, those holes will be mostly plugged up. The holes on the side also cause water to go everywhere before you have it inserted.
As the Shower Shot is extremely flexible, its also a little difficult to insert without collapsing it. Without the water on, it's too floppy to insert. The easiest way I found was to put some lube on the tip, hold it up to my anus, bring the water pressure to a minimum- where it was filling the Shower Shot but not spraying everywhere- insert, and then turn up the water pressure.
The Shower Shot also does not have an area for the sphincter to close around so your hand needs to hold it in or the water pressure will force it out. Since it doesn't need to stay in that long, this isn't really a problem, though uncomfortable with the included hose (discussed below).

The hose, as stated earlier, is only 46". It would have been much better suited if it was an extra foot or two longer. The shower nozzle in my shower is 6 ft high and I am 5'7". With the included hose, I had to stand on my toes to be able to be where I could insert it. I replaced the hose with a 86" hose from Home Depot and it became much easier to use. I could probably use it when sitting on a stool or even lying in the bath tub now.

I also purchased a dual nozzle for my shower so I would not have to remove my shower head every time I used it. The bottom of the Shower Shot fits well in the shower handle holder on the dual nozzle.

Some ways that this product could be improved:
1. Include a longer hose. Depending on your height and height of your shower nozzle, it can be very difficult to use.
2. Include a valve near the base of the Shower Shot to make it easier to control the water. I can probably buy a push button valve that can go between the hose and the Shower Shot to ease usage.
3. Dual nozzle attachment. Without one, you'll have to unscrew your shower head every time you want to use this.
These three things will run around a total of $15-25 at a hardware store. At a minimum, California Exotics should include a longer hose. 46" is way too short to expect to reach the butts of the majority of the population.
4. A little rigidity to the insertable portion would make insertion a little easier

Performance

This is my first enema so I don't have anything to compare it to.
Once I inserted it and turned the water on, I could feel the water filling my insides up. I kept the water going until my gut started feeling uncomfortable before proceeding to pull it out and shut the water off. I weighed myself before and then after and I had put around 3.5 lbs of water into me in under 30 seconds. I grabbed a book and sat on the toilet until I was sure nothing else would come out not under my control. With the amount of liquid inside of me, everything flowed out easily.

The first time I used it, I did not have the Shower Shot filled up with water until after it was inserted. After the water came out, a LOT of air followed that had been forced in before the water. I suggest to anyone to fill up the hose and run at low pressure while inserting. Basically, prime the hose before insertion.

Looking at other enema devices, this method is much, much faster. You are diverting all of the water that comes out of your shower directly to your rectum and as I said, it put 3.5 lbs of water into me in less than 30 seconds. Judging from the other methods, it'll take a lot longer for those.

Care and Maintenance

If you go the route of removing it after every use, either use padded pliers or put a cloth around the connector before applying pressure if you want to avoid marks. The base of the Shower Shot is plastic so be careful with the pliers on that portion, so you do not break it.

As it's already in the shower, it's easy to rinse off. An anti-bacterial spray is probably also a good idea.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The Colt Shower Shot was packaged in a 4.5"x8.5"x3" box. The box has pictures of the Colt Shower Shot with a nude male in the shower for the background. Installation instructions are printed on the outside.

The different parts of the Shower Shot were packaged in individual bags and then placed in a larger plastic bag.

No instructions beyond the short explanation on the box were included. It really is just like installing a handheld shower head so not too difficult to figure out, anyways.
    • Not discreet

Personal comments

The price for the Shower Shot is reasonable though I did buy some extra things to make it easier to use. At a minimum, a longer hose will be needed for most people.

All of the improvements were mentioned earlier and can be mitigated with some extra items. I was installing a new shower head anyways, so I just put this in at the same time. It took maybe 10 minutes to take off my old shower head, clean everything off, and install the new handheld shower, dual nozzle, and the Shower Shot.

Experience

This was my first enema and I was satisfied with how well it worked. I used it three times until only liquid was coming out with no solids. It cleaned me out extremely well.

My shower allows me to control hot and cold water independently so it was easy to control the temperature. Lukewarm or colder water felt the best. Anything warmer than that was uncomfortable.

great first review, thanks. Can you hook this up to your bathroom sink faucet?

The threads on a sink aerator and a shower head are different. It'll probably require a converter.
