For me or for you?

The Nexus Max 5 is a dual stimulator that can be used by either males or females who are open to exploration and play. For women there's G-spot and clitoral stimulation, and for males you get P-spot and perineum stimulation. Nexus has equipped this silky smooth silicone toy with a multi-speed bullet that they were even kind enough to include the battery with! Other than a weak unimpressive bullet (that could be replaced) the toy is quality built and worth a try.

Use

The Nexus Max 5 is technically classified as a prostate massager meant to be used anally by men to stimulate the prostate and perineum simultaneously, but men are not the only ones who can get some enjoyment out of the Nexus Max 5. Women can use the Nexus Max 5 vaginally as a dual action vibrator for G-spot and clitoral stimulation. As the plastic bullet that powers Nexus Max 5 can be removed from the silicone massager, the bullet itself can be used for external stimulation of any erogenous zone on the body; nipples, testicles, clit, or anywhere else you like a little buzz.

Material / Texture

There are two different parts to the Nexus Max 5; the main body of the massager, and the bullet that powers the vibrations. The main body of the Nexus Max 5 is made from silicone which rates a perfect 10 on the Eden Fantasys' safety scale. Silicone earns high marks for being non-porous, hypo-allergenic, and phthalates free. As the toy is non-porous not only will it not harbor any bacteria or other micro-organisms, but with proper cleaning it can be safely shared between users. The silicone that the Nexus Max 5 is made from is silky smooth with barely any drag associated with it, although you are still going to want to use some lube with the toy especially if using anally. Water-based lubes must be used with silicone toys. The silicone that makes up this toy is rather firm but will flex a little towards the bottom of the insertable shaft. There was no odor or taste associated with the material if that is important to you.

The second piece of the toy is the metallic looking plastic bullet. Plastic also scores high on the Eden Fantasys' safety scale earning an 8. Plastic is also non-porous, hypo-allergenic, and phthalates free.

The insertable shaft of the Nexus Max 5 is perfectly smooth with curves to stimulate the P-spot or G-spot, the only texture on the toy is found on the external stimulator arm of the toy. On that section of the toy there are nubs in the silicone to add to the massaging effect on either the perineum (for males using the toy anally) or the clitoris (for females using the toy vaginally.)

Design / Shape / Size

two pieces
The Nexus Max 5 is composed of two pieces, the main silicone body of the toy and the bullet that inserts into it to make it vibrate. The toy is designed to be an dual internal and external stimulator with an insertable shaft and an external stimulator arm. The bullet that makes the Nexus Max vibrate inserts into the external arm of the toy. The bullet is made from plastic even though it looks metallic. The bullet is 3.25 inches long and 2 inches in circumference. It fits into the external stimulating arm on the toy with the power button facing up. The fit of the bullet into this space it very tight, a tad bit of water-based lube is helpful inserting the bullet into the toy. Getting the bullet back out of the toy requires a bit of elbow grease.

where bullet goes

When the Nexus Max 5 is all put together it is about 5 inches long by 4 inches wide. It has an insertable length of 4 inches. The insertable shaft has two bulges; one at the very tip of the toy and one in the middle of the shaft, it then narrows where the anal sphincters would tighten around the neck of the insertable shaft. The first bulge on the shaft is 3.75 inches in circumference, the second is 4.25 inches in circumference, the shaft then narrows to a circumference of 3 inches. The base of the toy is 3 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall. The external stimulating arm extends about 2.5 inches up from the base of the toy and is 3.75 inches in circumference.

As a women I got the Nexus Max 5 to use as a rabbit style vibrator. Here is a comparison picture of the Nexus Max 5 compared to other rabbit style vibrators I have on hand. It is pictured between the Jopen Vanity vr6.5 and the Fun Factory Paul and Paulina.

I also have a comparison picture of the bullet that comes with the Nexus Max 5 and some other bullets I have on hand. Here it is pictured between the bullet out of the Impuls'o G-spot Stimulator, and the High Intensity Bullet. As you can see it is a tad bit larger than the standard bullet size of the green Impuls'o but almost identical to the larger High Intensity Bullet.

Performance

The Nexus Max 5 is powered by a single 1.5V LR1 N battery that thankfully comes included with the toy. The battery powers the bullet that fits into the silicone body of the toy. When inserting the battery into the bullet I noticed that there is rubber o-ring on the cap to the battery compartment but the instructions and the manufacture's website mention nothing about the waterproofing of this toy. I went ahead and ran it under water to clean and inspected the battery compartment afterwards, there was no hit of water in the battery compartment. I would guess that the bullet is at least splashproof, I would hesitate to fully submerge it without conformation from the manufacture about its waterproof abilities.

The bullet only has one function: steady vibration, but the level of vibration can be turned up from low to high. There is a single button that operates the bullet, press the button once and it will turn on, press it again and it will turn off. If you wish to turn up the intensity of vibration when the bullet is on, holding down on the power button will amp up the level of the vibrations. On high I would rate the vibrations 1 bee, this toy is very quiet. As far as power goes being bullet operated the toy is fairly weak, I would rate it about 2.5 to 3 vrooms on high at the very most. The vibrations are also very buzzy in nature.

Although the Nexus Max 5 can be used either vaginally or anally by men or women, the design of the Nexus line is apparently perfect for prostate stimulation. As I do not have a prostate I cannot comment on just how perfectly it curves against the P-spot, but as a women the curves of the bulges do stimulate the G-spot very well during use. When inserted vaginally the first bulge pressed up against my G-spot while the external arm of the toy rested on my clitoris. This was very pleasurable but the strength of the bullet was just not enough to get me off vaginally. Now I decided to try the toy anally, I was a bit concerned that the blunt tip would be difficult to insert but it wasn't. Anally the level of vibration from the bullet was perfect. I still got G-spot stimulation through pressure from the toy and the shape of the Nexus Max 5 curved perfectly for the anal canal.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning the Nexus Max 5 is fairly easy. It is best to remove the bullet from the base of the toy for cleaning, not only does this give you more options for cleaning the silicone base, but it ensures that any lube or bodily fluids are cleaned out of the space that the bullet fits into. Once the bullet is removed the silicone base can be boiled, ran through the dishwasher, soaked in a dilute bleach solution, or washed with warm water and anti-bacterial soap. The bullet is plastic and cannot be boiled or placed in the dishwasher or it will melt and and stop working, and as the waterproof abilities of the bullet is still in question I hesitate to soak it in the bleach solution. To clean the bullet you can wash with warm water and anti-bacterial soap or wipe off with a toy wipe. To put the bullet back in after cleaning a small amount of water-based lube is helpful and the fit is very tight. As the toy is made from silicone it is best to use only water-based lubes with the Nexus Max 5 during play.

Packaging

The Nexus Max 5 came in a very sleek black box that had a window in the front and smaller windows on the sides that the toy could be seen through. The box stated the name of the toy and that it was a G-spot massager. The back of the box had more highlights on its use and features. It is in no way discreet but at the same time it is not distasteful, there is no nudity or offensive graphics on the packaging. Inside of the box with the toy there is a battery for the bullet and instructions on use. Now even though it is labeled as a G-spot massager the instructions are written for male use. Now Nexus is UK based, so my only thought on that is maybe in England the P-spot is called a G-spot as it is sort of the male equivalent of the female G-spot?

Experience

I knew getting the Nexus Max 5 that it was a toy aimed at males for P-spot stimulation, but I figured the shape looks like it would work for female vaginal use too, and it came in a pretty purple color so I couldn't resist giving it a try. It did fit my anatomy very well for G-spot and clit stimulation, but the bullet was just a little too weak to send me over the edge during vaginal use. I did end up using the Nexus Max 5 for anal stimulation and was blown away on that end. I turned it backwards so that the bullet arm wouldn't get in the way if I wanted to use another toy for dp vaginally, I must say that anally the level of vibration is perfect. I can only assume that since the anal nerves are a bit more sensitive the toy was made a tad bit weaker than standard vaginal toys are. Maybe the P-spot is just a lot more sensitive than the female G-spot? And the shape of the toy works very well for anal penetration, the curves just fit in so well. I will be looking at getting a stronger bullet to put in this toy. I would also be willing to share with my male partner, but he so far is not open to the idea of P-spot stimulation through anal penetration. Maybe some day he'll explore a little more but I won't push him beyond his comfort levels, when he is ready so will be Nexus Max 5 (or some other toy good beginner male toy.)
