Tano - butt plug by PicoBong - review by ToyTimeTim

The Tano is wonderful butt plug designed for prostate massage, but could just as easily be used for vaginal play. Perfect for beginners or those more advanced folks wanting a quiet plug, this plug fits the bill. From the silky smooth silicone top to the high gloss base, this toy is easy, safe, and provides great stimulation to your anus, P-spot, or anywhere you wish to use it. It is waterproof for play time in the shower or tub and stays in even with vigorous movement.

The small size allows you to toss it in a coat pocket/purse. The way it hugs your butt cheeks you can wear it out and about with none the wiser.

Topping off the Tano is a layer of silky silicone that has almost no drag. It feels a lot like PU coat but thicker; as such, there is no give to the toy. You'll find that not much lube is needed for this plug, which can be a big plus. Completing this toy is a plastic base; this has a high gloss finish that is super slick when lube is applied.

You will not find any smell or taste. Another big plus, this silicone does not attract dust and hair like silicone is prone to do. The name is molded into one side of the silicone, providing the only texture, and is not easily felt during use.

PicoBong has designed this plug to look a lot the Aneros or Nexus brand P-spot massagers - for the P-spot enthusiast, this make good sense. Simply put, the design works. This toy can be used as a plug or you can use your pelvic floor muscles to move it in and out. The slick surface allows for an effortless glide with no irritation.

The Tano's base is offset and angled somewhat to the short side, allowing the user to adjust the pressure to the area they chose; the short side hitting the perineum it applies more pressure to the P-spot. Also, this would be good for dual penetration when worn by a female. Turn it around and you get light stimulation to the P-spot and can sit on it, perfect for long term wear.

Size wise, the Tano is very beginner friendly. It is 1 1/16" in diameter (3 1/2" circumference) at the widest part and four inches of insertable length. The base is 1 1/4" wide, 3 1/2" long, and has an oval shape with one end forming a point. The edges of the base are rounded and smooth for comfort. There is a hint of a seam in the base on two sides, but cannot be felt during use.

A single AAA battery is needed for use. To install it, the base unscrews from the top. If you look in the base you will see a Phillips (+) head screw, this is were the positive side of the battery goes. Make sure you tighten the base all the way to preserve the waterproof capabilities.

Tano comes with 12 vibration settings that are very quiet. Once inserted, you will be hard pressed to hear them. You will feel them though. The first six settings are steady vibes that start out soft and gain in intensity. You cycle through these by pressing the "+" (In the "B" of Bong) molded into the name on the side of the toy. If you want to go back to a lower setting you use the "-" button (In the "P" of Pico). The button is a click type, so there is no worry about changing the settings by mistake. To get to the next set of vibe settings, you have to press and hold the button down for a few seconds. This starts the escalating and pulse settings of which you get six. These can be cycled through by pressing the "+" button, but not backwards.

At the highest setting, the vibe stimulates the whole anal area, I could even feel them through my penis with my hand. To change back to steady vibes, you press the "-" button. Once they change, you hold down the "-" button to turn it off.

I have used the Tano twice, each time for 45 minutes, and the battery shows no sign of drain. So, not only are the vibes quiet, they don't eat batteries.

After the fun is done, it's time for cleaning, right? Well, to clean your Tano simply use an anti-bacterial soap and warm water. You can also use a 10% bleach solution or even isopropyl alcohol. You can not boil it due to the battery and plastic.

One thing to pay attention to - the Tano is waterproof: that is, no water/soap will get into the battery compartment. But due to the design a little extra cleaning will be necessarily. See here:



That groove in the base will get water/bodily fluids in it. You'll need the corner of a washcloth or something that will fit inside to clean it. Since the base only has the metal battery contact in it, you could wash this area. Just make sure to dry completely before storage; it may rust if not.

To make things easier, I suggest to just using a condom over it. This will also help with cleaning out the name molded into the silicone.

Silicone lube should not be used, but water and oil based lubes are fine. If you take my suggestion and use a condom you could use silicone lube - Bath time fun anyone???

Packaging is pretty nice, but not discreet.




As you can see, the front has a clear panel to show the toy and the small die. There're some advertising slogans and company info on the back and some of the highlights on the front. I would say the box will not be the best for storage; you can just use a zip top bag or toss it in your toy box, keeping it away from like materials.

Inside the box is the toy, die, and an instruction pamphlet. You also get a warranty pamphlet; this is good for a one year warranty.

For the most part, this is pretty nice toy. I like the vibrations and the fit is good too. I wore it around the house doing various chores and never felt like it would come out, even when wearing it during sex with the wife. So, for that I would give it a solid five star rating.

Why then did I give it a three star? Well, let me first show you a picture.



See where the arrow is pointing? That is a very sharp edge; see how the top does not fit right? Now my asspussy can swallow some of the biggest toys on the EF site, if flat out refused to go past that seam. Like not just "no", but "fuck you no!" Seriously, that seam would cut, mangle and tear a person’s anus pretty darn quick. So, I asked for a new one thinking mine was just flawed. Guess what, the second one has the same flaw! Not to be outdone by a toy, I used a nail file to sand down the seam, worked great. Take off one star.

Second star, this is my biggest bitch about the toy (I have had more issues with seams, I just fix them and get on with it), you have to take the toy out to adjust the vibes. Now I am not skittish about touching fluids that come out my ass or anything. It just seems like they said "Hey, this vibe would be great for the guys. Let's make a P-spot massager out of the Koa." I don't know of to many folks that just use one setting during use, seems they could have designed it to be more user friendly.

So, if you don't mind taking a chance with the seam or having to take the toy out to adjust the settings, this might be a good toy for you.
